crazybeewoman - You brought up some interesting points but it seems like your motive is to discredit Millie's story. Castro came into power in 1959, whether Celia Cruz has passed away in 2003 or not does not have any relevance. The flag displayed is not official US Flag and I don't think the same protocol is required. I may be wrong on this point but the bigger point is do you see the correlation between Cuba and what's happening in the US today?

crazybeewoman - Castro became the Dictator taking over from Fulgencio Batista in Feb 1959. He had revolutionary radicals included in his Oriente group, including Guevara who was not a Cuban. Celia Cruz did pass but is still very popular among Cubans, affectionately known as "azucar". I personally lived the story or had many letters telling me of the events. If you would like to see photos of military "barbudos" near Mayari, meet me. The camera doesn't lie.

Cecilia Cruz is dead! I think she died in 2003. I believe I heard this lady say that she is living in Florida.

Castro did not become president until the 70s; I believe he was Prime Minister when this lady was 17. I will let her go on this un-truth since she was so young and maybe she doesnt have the correct recollection. Which leads me to believe that other things that she is saying is made-up to sound good for this event.

Whats with the decoration using an improperly hung previous U.S. Flag? I understand that this is a 1777 representation of a revolutionary type crowd...I guess! If you all were real patriots you would know a little about our countrys laws for flag flying. This flag really should not be hung so sloppily and of course the stars should be on the left of the people who are viewing the flag. We learn that in grade school. Really, the flag should have been hung on a pole to the speakers right.
