The opening music is the best part of the show. I have much respect for Armisen and Brownstein in their other creative ventures but Portlandia has driven its one joke straight into the ground: "self-conscious middle-class white people invent problems in urban paradise." And yes, I live in Portland. Too bad the show only focuses on a tiny cultural clique of not very interesting people.

I grew up in the Northwest and My dad lives in Portland. I cannot think of a more perfect portrayal. Haters thinks it is unrealistic, but that's the nature of sketch comedy.... to exaggerate and already existing situation and make it funny. George W. doesn't really talk like a 6 yr old, but Will Ferrel always made me laugh!
