  • I never cared for Vierne on English organs. They're sort of the anti-thesis to the French sound.

  • Nice playing. Is this a tracker organ? I noticed some phantom notes being played.

  • For all of its apparent faults, this organ sounds mighty fine. The performance is too.

  • The organ playing is immaculate. However, don't know if it's the recording or maybe the blower the organ sounds sluggish !

  • Thanks for the comment. Probably a bit of both. Much of the internal leatherwork is nearly 100 years old, the reeds speak a bit late and the pipework is all pretty dirty. We're hoping that we can restore for its centenary in 2015.

  • Didn't Vierne write that he didn't want this piece to be played at mass?

Well played! Could be more agressive! I understand it's a pneumatic organ!

  • Thanks for the comment. I believe that Vierne's comment applied to Fantomes although I may be wrong.

  • Indeed but I'm pretty sure he did say that to about this fantastic piece!

You are a good organist! I like the Langlais very much! Great mixture in the GO!

  • @AllHallowsChurch you are correct, most people attribute that comment to this piece but it is a myth, he only applied it to Fantomes.
