The dancers look so wholesome compared to many of today's dancers - in USA and Egypt. However, actresses at that time also looked wholesome compared to today - think Elizabeth Taylor, Rita Hayworth, Ava Gardner.

And because the film was grainier, their skin looked more perfect, too.

Great clips but wanted to see longer clips of each dancer.

Such style and grace. I see nothing sexual about it, these ladies truely show how belly dancing is a form of art. And as a beginning belly dancer myself, can I just comment on how ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL their bodies are?! It's just amazing to see such natural, hourglass curves like that. I always thought that the best belly dancers were the ones with the full hips and soft, round tummies and this video PROVES it! LOL X-D

For those who have been requesting this music, Hosam Ramzy's music should be available to you on cd; mine is. There is a great book on bellydancing that includes many (if not all) of these dancers. Unfortunately, I cannot recall the title of it at this time but I'm sure a number of dancers out there have it and may be able to help with that. I will post the title when/if it comes to me. It has great pics and some background info. on the dancers. And they really were quite beautiful.

It wasn't only about the classic dancers but there was a good section of it that gave pics and background info. on some of the most known. I wanted you to know that I  haven't forgotten , I just can't for the life of me find the book. I was sure another dancer would know what it was called.
