  • I have already answered your question on another video, this is the same guitar.

  • cool men , check out my bluesy video .. see you!

  • WOW, sounds real good ! Looks like you're using a blues junior AND a TS9. Is that right ? I have the same setup. Please keep posting.

  • Very nice, thanks for sharing!

Your style is sort of what I'd like to shoot for. I'm just starting out - haven't even picked a guitar yet.

I'm 61 so probably won't be able to to really quick finger moves, but slow and bluesy is - to me - beautiful.

Yours is one example I'll keep referring back to.

  • You're never to old to learn.

Keep it simple and full of soul and forget about playing quick... it doen't matter, as long as you have soul!

  • @KutWrite BB king :)

  • Jerking your hand away doesn't look cool nor does it articualte what previous note played -not good showmanship. Nice playing the Blues - always great to play on a Strat - nice playing.

  • Personally, I thought it looked pretty schnazzy..

  • So beatiful men im so sad...

  • lol. why do you keep flinging your hands?

  • Before you commit to the LesPaul, try a PRS "Tremonti"SE. I had an'80 LesPaul, great guitar, fat tone, sustain for days, but so damn heavy! The Tremonti has all that, but 1/2 the weight. I also refitted my American Deluxe Strat with a set of Fender Texas Special pickups. I play thru either a Blues Jr. or a

'73 Silver face Twin. Between the guitars and amps, I find that I can tailor and maintain the tone I want,be it a small room, big room or outdoors.

  • Thanks for your kind comments.

I now have a Les Paul, (check out the other video). I know what you mean about them being heavy, however I weigh about 220 so it doesn't feel too bad, i'm sure it would be worse for someone small. Haven't played a gig with it yet though!!!

  • Just watched the LesPaul clip...Awesome! If you're not playin' any clubs yet, you should be!You've got the technique, the discipline, but most importantly, you've got the heart, soul, and feeling for the Blues.

Even in the short video clips, you project to a degree that I seldom hear these days. Keep up the great work,my friend, you're well on your way!!

  • Excellent!! Your phrasing & intonations are right on the money, you really let the Strat "speak" to your audience. Keep doin'what you're doin'brother, Your time is coming!!

  • whats with the hand flinging

  • The 3.15-minute duration blues jam reminds me the old Slowhand performing "The Thrill is Gone" with the legendary King of Blues back in the 1980s.

Good basis for a Clapton/SRV/Cray-style "quacky" Strat blues solo, though.

Thinkin' about buying a Les Paul or an SG2000, man? Santana is now playing his PRS signature guitars. A Strat with humbuckers and a Floyd Rose tremolo should probably be an obvious solution for your needs.

  • You told us that you want a thicker Santana-like guitar tone for your Strat. You'll probably need to put a hot humbucker in the bridge position or install an Eric Clapton mid-boost/TBX tone circuit if your guitar has an SSS setup. Also, you have to change the stock pickups with a set of Vintage Noiseless stacked-coils for getting the most optimal results.

  • Yes I have thought about getting a Clapton Strat or at least TBX system, however I feel I will lean to the Gibson Les Paul. Yamaha SG2000 is a lovely instrument also...

  • Can you post the settings you used on your amp and effects for the different tones on all your videos.

  • Nice tone. Could you post the settings you used on your amps and effects to get the different tones on all your videos.

  • Hi there. I used the same settings on all the videos. Vol 8 reverb 4 bass 11 mid 5 treble 3.5 master 3 The amp is a Fender blues Junior. For overdrive I use a Pro Co Rat box with the settings all at the 12 o'clock position. That's it. The other tone variations come from ajusting the vol knob and tone controls on the strat. I Hope this helps, thanks for looking.
  • Pretty good. But why do you play a little then move your hand away real fast?

  • Thanks for your comments. You know, I never really thought about that until I watched the video. I think it's just more noticeable because the camera is fixed on my hands/guitar.

  • guess so. Keep it up!

  • Great playin', my man. You've got a real feel for the blues. Your tone though, is FANTASTIC! What are you using for amp/effect, etc?

  • Thank you so much, tone is my big thing. I would much rather listen to a good tone than a fast show off player any day. I thank you for the complement.

The Strat goes into a pro co 'Rat' overdrive box set about half way then into the Fender Blues Junior. Gives you a warmer thicker sound than my Keely mod TS 9.
