  • Shit commentator

  • Thumbs up if you think Heikki's a legend and he deserves a better team.

  • is that greg rust commentating?

  • The walkabout tickets are the best if you're there for nothing but the racing

  • Is the commentator Australian? I thought he sounded familiar when I was watching it live...

  • Heikki was smart. Some guys in the pit lane don't have fire-proof clothing and he would have probably blocked the pit lane. Lotus would not have wanted a fire in their garage and where else would he go? To where the medical car is parked? If other cars were in the pit lane, he probably would have been black flagged. Good thinking...

  • Hey guys he is a FINN. He´s got that "sisu" what makes all Finnish race drivers so good. Just give him a proper car and time/opportunity to develop it the way he wants it to be then we´ll all see what he can achieve.

  • 23 drivers against the fastest heikki

  • Kimi The Iceman, Heikki The Fireman

"who cares if there's oil on the track, safety is paramount"

Do you have ANY idea how self-contradictory that statement is? Oil or other slippery substances on the track is one of the greatest hazards in motor racing. On countless occasions, I've seen car after car after car go sliding off, into tyre barriers or the car which was infront which just went off in the same place.

Slippery substances on the track are incredibly DANGEROUS, and yes, safety IS paramount!

  • @parkerbestdad your right about the fuel tank.

  • @parkerbestdad you know what I meant so answer the question?

  • @mrjamie1410

What happens if the car broke down????

Hahahahahaha. Read what you wrote again and look at the car.

    Pillock.

  • Ha ha ha. I love the fact 2 more complete idiots have replied to my message. Seriously. Does anyone on here have any common sense?

The only word I keep seeing cropping up is the word. "if"

There was no if...... His engine was on fire, which then spread to the chassis which is carbon fibre, something that catches fire very easily. The fuel tank blowing up??? My god!! You have got to be the thickest person I have ever come across. Do you know where the fuel tank is in the car?? It's no where ne

  • @parkerbestdad well you ever tried to light about 3 liters of fuel on fire inside pretty safe tank ?? and it doesnt have spark anyway after engine is off

  • @parkerbestdad

Bro. There are a lot more people in the pit than on the straight. He himself said that he didnt want the car to explode in the pits cause that will hurt a lot more people. He handled that situation well and he deserve the credit. better safe than sorry. What more he hugged the wall, I think the yellow flag went out, and engineers warned the drivers. So chances of slipping is possible, but unlikely. And how do you know there was an oil spill.

  • @parkerbestdad Fire does not stay in the same place you moron. Fire spreads, and that is common knowledge. How do you think a bushfire happens, do you think someone goes across and lights every single tree on fire? No, a small fire starts, and it spreads like crazy. When you have a fire right on top of an engine, any idiot (with you being the obvious exception) would try to avoid putting that vehicle near anyone.

  • No doubt he was playing Prodigy's Firestarter on his team radio

  • that guy has some serious stones on him, not driving down the pit lane incase it exploded and hurt people and risking his own life by driving further and trying to put out the fire himself? serious kudos to the guy.

  • @Joyfulcheese

If your car is on fire, you get off the track if possible, preferably close to the nearest marshals. The pit lane of any motor race, but especially F1 is well prepared for a car fire. As my previous post, it is much more difficult and dangerous to deal with a fire on the start/finish with cars whizzing past, than in the pit lane.

I am a marshal, and if I'd been the one who had to go onto the live circuit to deal with that one, 'kudos' wouldn't have been the word I used!

  • Haha Singapore sucks

  • @parkerbestdad what happens if the car broke down on his way into the pits?

  • God dam those cars are LOUD :O

  • I just think it's really cool how the driver is putting out the fire on his own car, shows that they are decent people the drivers. I would have thought that they would just have waited for crew to come along and put it out.

  • @gobbiebird i think your full of spam boo yeah

  • Ha ha ha ha at both the morons who commented on my comment.

Let's get something straight morons. If he came in the pits. Instantly someone would have been on it and extinguished the fire. Can't remember which one of you fools said safety of paramount, but I agree. So instead drivers should cruise along the track spilling oil while other drivers are screaming past at 180mph and quite possibly slip on it and crash into the barrier and die... How about you think before commenting you dappy sod.

  • @parkerbestdad and if the fuel tank had exploded in the pit lane? How much more damage could have been done then genius?

  • @parkerbestdad

He was well off the racing line and poking along at 15 MPH.

  • He should earn his money as a fireman =D

  • superman

  • @parkerbestdad if he came into the pits and if the car blew up then people in the pit lane would get injured , think twice before commenting you donut.

and who cares if there's oil on the track, safety is paramount in F1, end of discussion.

  • @parkerbestdad Yes, lets bring a burning car into the pits where its crowded with lots of people. Really smart move.

  • @Splurd @beyblader10171

It was a bad move to park on the straight. You are right, the pit lane is loaded with people, but all of the teams, and all of the marshals should know how to deal with a fire. All of the many fire extinguishers in the pit lane are easily accessible. To deal with a fire on the straight, marshals and extinguishers have to be squeezed and awkwardly clamber through the gaps in the pit wall catch fence, in to positions where they are exposed to race cars at full speed.

  • Brave guy!

  • Wow excellent positioning in the stand. I'm envious.

  • Kovalainen is a big

    Great

  • is that peter windsor doing the track pa?

  • wow what a view , if you wanted to get a view from the wheel looking over the track it will cost you £10,000. thats alot for a 2 hour race :O

  • @iiTzDeViL

...and i thought my grand stand seats were expensive

  • He enjoyed it more than driving :D
