Kobe is the most arrogant player to ever play the game. Never in his career did Kobe ever back down to anybody. You'd be hard-pressed, even today, to find a single player that can outsmart him 1 on 1, because when they play 1v1, Kobe always comes out on top, because he's that kind of player and he always tries to express that he is more dominant than the opposing shooting guard. Hell, he's commonly known to guard other positions just because he wanted to guard the best player.

Lebron, on the other hand, is more of a humble player(not exactly humble, but humble compared to Kobe). Lebron doesn't do all that crazy-hard hero stuff that Kobe does, he just goes for whatever is the best way to get the ball to the basket. In Kobe's case, generally he can hit a shot after outsmarting the guy in front of him with about the same likelihood of success as an open teammate, whereas Lebron isn't afraid to pass the ball.

I'd say Kobe is to MJ as Lebron is to Magic.
