  • mine is feathery soft and thin. I have some thinning at the crown (due to the bond weave years ago) so I'm hoping to achieve some lenght like yours!

  • @Brinah With some TLC and patience, it will gain length. My number thing that helps me is protective styles.

  • @Brinah thanks for responding! It's been a month post chop and it has body but you can see the thin spots in the light..ugh!

  • Thanks for commenting. I do feel the back of my hair is fuller, but when I say thin, I mean the sides of my hair. I am able to cover it, but if you see later videos, I am bald on the sides.

  • your hair is fine (the strands). But it doesnt look thin to me (the coverage/density). Its lovely.

  • My hair is the same as yours!!!! It looks cute

  • @reeveslpn Thanks!

  • Your process sounds similar to what I do. I detangle with conditioner and oil on dry hair. After I detangle, I place my hair in braids & I wash & condition my hair while in braids. I can also relate to what you're saying about the water making your hair tangly. It does the same for me. I always hear the saying, "Water is your best friend." I'm not saying to be scared of water, but I also understand that dif't people's hair tolerate water in dif't amounts&degrees.

  • @randb247 Oh wow! I'm glad to know I am not the only one with water not being my friend, LOL! I love putting it in my hair, like you, I can only do it in a state where my hair is twisted or braided. Thanks for sharing! It makes me feel good to know so many other naturals out there have similar hair stories!

  • thanks, i was using ORS replenishing conditioner often, nd i realitized it had protein in it, even tho its considered a light protein condish using it often was prob to much for my hair, cus when it dried it was a little hard, i notice my hair is softer without the protein, and i was using jane carters revitalizing leave in conditioner, i swore by it, than after a while it didnt have the same effect. maybe it wasnt able to penetrate my hair cus of build up idk.

  • my hair is just like yours, i have a question? does your hair tend to be really dry? and what products do you use and or like?

  • @NitaB973 My hair does tend to be dry, but I don't see it as a bad thing, it just means that our hair regimen has to be a little bit more tailored. I would suggest moisturizing twice a day. I use the shea moisture products the one in the sqeeze bottle, that is more of a water based and not as thick as the one in the jar. Again, try soft & precious and see if that works along with the coconut oil. I get mine from whole foods and a little goes a long way.

  • @nalia1908 what is the brand of Shea moisture products that you use, and what is Soft & Precious. I am looking for ways to out moisture in my fine natural hair. I really appreciate you doing videos for women with fine hair.

  • @MsBoomer35 I use the organic coconut & hibiscus conditioning curl & style milk. If you put the text below in parenthesis in the Google search engine, the picture of the bottle that shows up is soft & precious. I checked their website and it looks like they may discontinue it. (Soft & Precious Detangling Moisturizer 12oz )

  • girl my hair is exactly like that but a little thinner. I can't do a thing with it (and be happy). water is my enemy too, so no water before styling. I'll have 2 wait till it's longer so my can hang 2 cause my edges r soooooo thin.

  • @yonniesnatural Thanks for commenting! I would say just be patient. I am still trying to figure out how to style my hair due to the thinning spots, but as time goes on, it seems like there is hope. What I would suggest, is if you are into wigs, experiment with making your own like I do. I think they look better than store bought wigs and fit the head better. Any tips I find out, I will surely pass along!

  • Aww I love ur little blue accessory tooooooo cute.. :-)

  • @iunique81 Thanks! That was the first time I actually used an accessory! I didn't think they looked good at first, but I think this summer, I may really get into it!

  • I'm glad to see that your hair is looking healthier now. I saw your big chop upto your one nappiversary and your thickness and texture have gotten much better. Whatever your doing keep it up, it looks sooo much better ;)

  • @happy2benappy1 Thanks! I'm not doing anything special. Just trying to keep it clean and in protective styles, mainly twist. I appreciate the comment!

  • Very cute style. I have learned to embrace the chunky twistout/ fro ;).

  • cute....this is my "go to" style when I'm feeling lazy....when in doubt, twist it out!!!!!:)
