I'd guess there were 25-30 people & took around 3 hours but we done it in 3 different pastures so part of the time we were moving everything. As you can see it goes pretty fast & far less stressful that running them through a chute & ya get a chance to see friends ya might not have seen much through the winter.
For me I Don't have near the crew so we gotta run them through the chute. For us it's a crew of 8 maybe, and half of them are kids (13 and under) The one thing that's nice about this is your not rounding up the whole herd in October to get them all processed. Dirty cusses never want to come out of there pastures in October. The way you do it they could get turned right back out to pasture and stay there till they run out of grass. It's always nice to seeing herds being worked different.
We just set up portable pens in the pastures, run them in, sort off the cows & do it & they are back home in an hour. It's nice to be able to do it this way as ya don't have to sort off the calves, haul them somewhere to be run through a chute & then haul them back to find their mom's...HA, we have kids to a couple even older than me helping!
Don't cry hippies! A close up shot of the castration would be a nice touch for all the people who think you can just walk up to a calf , pet it and give it a few shots and then kiss and tell it how much you love it before you eat it...
You idiots, this has to be done, if you don't brand your cow or vaccinate them, then your gonna end up with real problems. You can't just walk up to cow and expect it to be branded right? These cows have little human contact thus, there not wild but there defo not human either.
For the sake of animal welfare, you sometimes have to be cruel to be kind, suck's just thinking about it, but that's just how it is!
You are the most sickest person i have ever seen.....i know their are like rapeist's and murder's out in the world.... but mistreating animals like this is inhumain and you deserve to be branded youself...... you will pay for your deed..... i will make it so..
Nothing crazy about you, I hope you enjoy the branding video from today I'm about to put up...Now go enjoy your hamburger & just forget where it came from..
Good video! Keep it up!

It may seem a bit rough, but did you not hear that they are being vaccinated also? That is to benefit the cows also.
