When I saw this I cried and I still am.This story aint like other movies because this actually shows what war is and its a terrible thing and for a strange reason I am even more encouraged to enlist and defend my country like all the soldiers that are doing right now and the ones in the past.
I have friends and uncles who are enlisted and fought the war in Vietnam and its difficult for them to explain everything.War can never be explained you have to experience it.Respect to all the soldiers

This movie is worth researching. Lt. Gen Hal Moore, US Army, Ret. was the commander (played by Mel Gibson) in this battle. He was a Lt. Col. at the time. When approached about making the movie, he said no. He did finally agree, but insisted he was there for the filming - all of it. This may be the most historically accurate war film to date. Gen. Moore and all of his soldiers were and are true American heroes.
