This guy is amazing watched him live at Komedia in Brighton 13/12/09 (sells his DVDs super cheap).Hes a lovely guy bright as a spark and made me laugh myself silly and gave us all a friendly funny atmosphere if you ever get the opportunity to watch him deffo go! :D

Watched Stephen as the MC in Brighton Komedia, was fucking hilarious, has 2 twats that thought they would be big in front of their mates by shouting out stuff. He ripped them apart, so much so they shut up for all 3 acts, and their mates were still taking the piss out of them after they left the club! Anyone who heckles to be the big man deserves everything they get

Stand-up is a performance, and it's a job. Just like if a footballer reacts to the crowd, everyone thinks he's an arrogant f***er.

I've watched stand-up since I was a kid, and I'm just fed up of comedians talking back to the audience. Jack Dee does this a lot. I loved Dee's sulky act as a kid, now he's just way too cocky.

But everyone has different opinions. I know I might be wrong; I'm just saying how it appears.

And, in Stephen Grant's case, the audience seems to agree. Lol.

I'm a stand up and can honestly say i've never met another human who shares your view. Stand up should never be compared to football that's ludicrous it's like comparing bee keeping to darts "well if someone threw a bee during a darts tournament he'd look like a right prick!" 2 different things!.. .silly metaphor! If an audience member heckles the comedian and the comedian doesn't respond it ruins the show, are comedians might to stand there taking shit off drunken twats? Surely not

I think many people are put off by arrogant comedians; they just don't analyse the situation enough to realise why they've been put off.

You can clearly see it in this video, how his OTT reaction to the heckler costs him the audience's respect.

I'm not saying stand-ups shouldn't respond, I'm saying they should never take it personally. The audience is made up of people who pay for tickets and make an effort to turn up. The stand-up can't make the mistake in thinking he's more important.

How can someone heckling (and thus attempting to ruin the show) not be taken personally? Anyone who heckles is fair game to be destroyed, they've interrupted they shouldn't have and in many cases if it persists they get thrown out. Audiences (yourself excluded) want the comedian to destroy the heckler.

Do you have any idea how much effort is needed to write a routine? A whole lot more than sitting on a seat shouting out dickish comments. The comedian is lot more important than a drunken cretin
