@antioxidantt thats what i thought as well however amtgard fighting is definatly different from the fencing or kendo styles i learned now granted i use some of it in amtgard but theres kill hits you never would be able to perform using standard sword style

For blues, those swords seem obscenely heavy. Also, choke up and use it one-handed. You're automatically better than two-handed. She obviously has a heavier sword so play the range game and watch for openings on her upper arms.

there are many ways and i agree to handed are to give strenth to your strike but i think a shield and sword would be better gives you more time to think of a plan and while there foucused on the sword you could smack them with the shield you need to keep them guessing

Hey every1 has their own style..i myself sword and board it with a tower shield i stay on the defensive and try to open up a little so people will try at shots that arent there....and some people that dont know what they are doing will get out there and flail around and get face shots on people and then they wonder y they die so much...

Why not practice the real thing. Like I practice Kejutsu (style the Samurai ) So I can duel my friends who practice it too, or the ones who think they can use a weapon. I win most the time. I have a foam katana, I have used it in a dagorhir fight, it was 7 v 4, just a thing in my neighborhood. I was on the team of 4 and we won because of me. Everyone just swung without thinking and I knew what I was doing. The other people could match up.

Also 3 of the people on the other team had "armor" I struck at the areas that were unguarded and took 2 of the armored people down. I got 4 kills in all, my team lost only 1 person. And we all used melee weapons just so you know.

There are many ways to fight. With longer weapons, two hands give more control and strength.

@KonkeyMonkey doesnt have to be a red to have to hands on it. its actually really useful to do so if your using only a sword. i made my longswords a hand and ahalf for that reason exactly ^^ lol
