You can buy all of these supplies at any art supply store. The "pencil" things are called tortillons or, many people call them "stumpies"! (Fun video!)
Amy, I did some more searching on the internet and comes to find out you can use baby oil and goo gone too...hope this helps people who are interested in this technique.
Thank you so much for this tutorial, Amy!! I'm so excited...this means I will get so much more use out of my stamps!! Question: how long does it take for the gamisol to dry? You mentioned it was "oily".... ? Thanks, Heather :)
Love this video. I so want to try this now. No one would know its not copics if you didn't tell them. What kind of ink did you stamp with so I will know what to get.!!
Thanks so much Amy. Now I will be be able to use my stamps I have from Greeting Farms because I will have a way to color them in.!!!
Love those stamps! Where are those from? Awesome coloring...I too find coloring very relaxing, ever since I was a kid....I like it all copics and prisma pencils,, lots more colors to use with pencils. Hobby Lobby has a cool pencil sharpener for prisma colored pencils...its not electric but really good..its by the registers. TFS
Incase you don't know, you cannot use water color pencils with gamsol. I've also heard that the Prisma colored pencils are really good for this because they have more wax in them, just a tip.
@ruledbylabs I totally forgot to mention that.. about not being able to use watercolor Pencils :P LOL ... Ohh I will definetly have to and check out the Prisma pencils...I know trina said they were pretty pricey but maybe I can use a coupon :)
The paper things are called blending stumps... you can get them in the art section in all of the craft stores too. Yes, InkyAntics is a website. You can get the Gamsol there. Love that image! TFS.
WOW !!!!! sweets This is freakin ...FREAKIN...amazeing!!!!!!!!!! I love this tech wow...finally i ask a COOOL scrapper as your self =)) for a toot and you actually did it!! Thank you sooooooooo much hun this is again AMAZEING!!!! Now i will NEVER buy those pricey copics.....E-V-E-RRRRR PURRRRRFECT i tell ya..PURRRRFECT..MEOW!!
@LifeIsScrapTastic TRINA.....where the heck have you been????I've missed your vids and your face and voice and everything. Hope all is well with hubby and the boys. Miss yah and hope to hear or see you soon.
also - crayola makes a multicultural set of colored pencils that has all the skin tone shades. You may want to check a local teacher supply store for these - not sure if Target or Walmart sell them. thanks again
This is totally awesome it takes colored pencils to a whole new level. I agree about the copics I think they are way too pricey it would take me forever to build up a collection. TFS
I'd love to know what its called here in NZ. Ive asked for Gamasol but they've not heard of it. If any one knows what its called would you please let me know. I have a feeling it may be turps but that smells pretty bad. Im really not sure. I mainly use pencils too and I would love to get this stuff. Thank you so much.
Hi there, thanks for the tutorial, I hope you do more on coloring with pencils ,great.
warm hugs
