i have never knocked johnny cash, i have every album this great man made,my only comment was that roger miller and king of the road were made for each other and no one ever matched him in singing this great song,in my opinion.

I'm old enough to have remembered being so sad when he passed away. King of the Road was the first song I ever learned to play by ear when I first picked up a flute. I grew up with Miller, Cash, the Rat Pack, Hudson and the jazz greats, and Tom Waits aside, music has been sapped of most of its spirit, soul, drive, and creativity.Then again, literature for the most part has done the same-become flaky and superficial.*Almost makes me wish publication still imposed a heavy cost. RIP Original King.

I love this song! I listened to it 3 times in the past hour. I love Roger Miller, but to all the people who are making fun of rappers... You should remember that this was pop music just like rap, Justin Bieber, and all of the others. Nothing really makes this superior in anyway.
