  • is this compatible with all nes games ( excluding the unlicensed ones)

  • @shoopdawhoop9871 This is still the million dollar question. I personally know of 4 games it definitely doesn't work with which are Castlevania 3, TMNT 3, Paperboy and Gauntlet 2 but if you look way, way down in the comments, you can see that someone posted a list of games that don't work. Also, I believe that Google can really be your friend when it comes to this. I guess if you are curious about a game before you buy it, Google it. :-)

  • got it and does not work with super mario bros/duck hunt

  • @BackbonedANDY97 Really? Mine does.

  • does it work with super gameboy so i can play gameboy games

  • @BackbonedANDY97 Seeing as that is a SUPER NINTENDO accessory, I would suggest checking out one of the other clones I mentioned that play SNES games because from what I understand, the Super Gameboy does work with them, This is strictly NES. There is an accessory sold online through retrozone that does play gameboy games on NES and it has been tested with clone systems.

  • @BackbonedANDY97 no it wont because dat is a snes thing try a retron3

  • i got my retron 1 for only 12 bucks!!!!!

  • @mariodude73 NICE! Where?

  • nice review man, i subscribed

  • @minielk454 Awesome. Thank you!

  • Ya I get the sound issue when I play smb and I hit a coin block

  • @Halomasta153 Oh yeah. That is a minor one though. Thank you for watching and commenting. I can't believe I forgot that one.

  • Does this system play NTSC US games? Just wondering before I buy any NTSC games while waiting for my RetroN1 console to be shipped.

  • @2mitchmitch Yes it is NTSC. I am still honestly not sure if it plays PAL titles but would like to know.

  • Those are not sound issues. The programmed the device to make the soundtrack sound like dubstep so it's not outdated anymore.

  • retron and other new clones cant be shuted down now because after 20 to 30 years i guess (depend of the country) nintendo loose the ability to own the system and become public. but those system should not use original licenced hardware.

so yea those are legal now. but unlicenced.

  • Great job on your review, i wanted an original Nes but they are very expensive for me and i saw the retron and was unsure about it till i saw your review :) i'll be ordering mine off amazon tomorrow

  • @rolandoflowers Thanks very much for your input and I am glad that my review helped you make your decision.

  • 25 i got a old nes at a market for 25

  • so i could yous my power pad and power glove some one please!!! ANSWER

  • @parodyworld15 YES! ALL accessories.

  • yaayyy

  • @parodyworld15 :-) You getting one?

  • @neojake999gamer well i have one and before i bought a power glove i wanted 2 know

  • @neojake999gamer great system review man!! i just bought a messiah generation nex system, im hoping it works well, at least as good as the retron1

  • Will Mega Man 2 work with this?

  • @GamerDudeish Yup!

  • @neojake999gamer Any audio issues with it?

  • @GamerDudeish Nope. Perfect. It's actually one of the games that sounds better on it than an original NES would hooked up to an HD LCD tv.

  • i figured it out! Do not pull straight out, rock it right to left not up and down! It works try it!

  • This is a list of NES games that dont work with nes clones:

-Battletoads, Castlevania III, Gauntlet, Paperboy ,Bandit Kings of Ancient China, Challenge of the Dragon, Cheetahmen II, Crystal Mines, Gemfire, Incredible Crash Dummies, Jordan vs. Bird One on One, King Neptune's Adventure, Krion Conquest, Laser Invasion, L'Empereur, Menace Beach, Nobunaga's Ambition II, Pipe Dream, Rad Racer II, Romance of the Three Kingdoms II, Uncharted Waters, WWF King of the Ring, WWF Wrestlemania Challenge.

  • @skyblue11685 Thank you. That looks pretty complete to me.

  • got the red and white i love it but is there a way to make it easier to pull the cartridge out?

  • @andrewgamesslp Don't quote me on this, but if you cut a little of the cartridge slot around the left side (not the right) you might be able to. I might try this if I get a second one. Try at your own risk, I suppose because I would be afraid to ruin the system, Good job getting one though and you made a good choice getting the Famicom colored model.

  • Awesome review, just ordered the silver.

  • @JustWhatchMyVids Awesome. Good for you and thanks for commenting and watching. Trust me you will be happy with it.

  • The retro bit nes sounds much better and I bought it for $25 at gameplay.

  • @robo9193 YEAH and i had a res but smoke came out of the system and it got burned badly. retron1 is better.

  • can you give me a link for a list of what games it doesnt work with? please? :D

  • @Wrestlingthemeremix I still haven't found a definitive list because sites show different ones. I can give you a few that I know about (a few of them are rather psetting but some are not that big a deal.)

TMNT 3, Castlevania 3, Paperboy, Gauntlet to name a few. Some lists show games that use the powerpad or zapper but since this system will use those accessories, those are completely compatible as long as you keep in mind that the zapper will not work on HD LCD or plasma displays.

  • Does this thing support PAL games (or does this console even work on a PAL television)?

  • @McMaNGOS I have heard things both ways with these. Most of the clones that have more than one system built in do play PAL games (with a few compatibility exceptions) so I am assuming this will play them too. As for working on a PAL TV? I have no clue whatsoever. Do other NTSC systems work on them?

  • @neojake999gamer The primary difference between PAL and NTSC consoles is that NTSC consoles output 60Hz video while PAL consoles output 50Hz video. So, theoretically, I should be able to use an NTSC console on a TV that supports 60Hz video (which my TV does), although I'm not entirely sure about this.

Guess I'll have to research some more, but thanks for answering :]

  • @McMaNGOS I try to answer every comment I get. My channel is still pretty small so I can easily do it even if I don't know the actual answer. Thank you for watching.

  • @neojake999gamer I have a retron 1 system I can`t get my game genie to work in it.When I put the game and game genie in the top loder and push the power it showes the gamie genie screen for a breif couple of seconds then the screen goes black If I push the b button I can hear the letter go up or the a bu screen appeartton the letter explodes but I still cant see what in doing and when I push start the game start screen appears do you have any suggestions on how I can fix this let me know.

  • @mrcsk99 Well I think you answered a question that I had involving the Game Genie. I wasn't sure if the Game Genie worked with it and it sounds like that's your issue. I'll bet it's the Game Genie that is causing the issue. Try without it.

  • @neojake999gamer i got this system today for 25 dollars at amazon.com. is it worth it.

  • @jasonlin1216 Totally.

  • @neojake999gamer can this system work with pac man and will it play unlicensed games.

  • That shirt is AWESOME!.

  • @getliquified I know right? I love it too but sadly it shrunk in the dryer and got paint on it recently so I think it might be the one and only time I wear it for a video...

  • I like the Kirby music.

  • @larryinc64 Really? It's kind of abstract I guess. Almost sounds like if you do that cartridge tilting trick on other toploading systems.

  • just bought one of these, it worked for 10min. switched games and never worked again...

  • @LuciDreamTv Really? Actually you're the second person I have heard that had a problem with these. I guess it's like any piece of electronic equipment out there. There are some duds...

  • i really like this video i was on the fence about this but now im going to buy it

  • @howtradjicforu You totally should!! Nice cheap way to get into NES gaming! After more research, I still haven't found any more audio problems than what I showed here. Thank you for watching.

  • @neojake999gamer the only problem is that i would have to pay 39.99 for it.

  • @howtradjicforu Why is that? I got it for a total of 25 dollars including shipping.

  • @neojake999gamer i do not have a credit card so the only place i can get it from is a retro game store who sells it for 39.99

  • @howtradjicforu Ouch. You gotta be careful because retro stores really over charge for stuff sometimes. Another place to check would be amazon.com and see if you can get a gift card somewhere. Or you can get a green dot money card or something and add money to a paypal account the site I mentioned takes paypal. Just a suggestion.

  • @neojake999gamer i bought the black one and it works great

  • @howtradjicforu Awesome. Welcome to the club!! I'm actually gonna buy a second one soon and probably gonna choose the famicom colored one. My wife wants a pink one if they ever make it!

  • @neojake999gamer ive been useing it all day and it rocks

  • Great vid man I subscribed :D

  • Comment removed

  • good vid man

  • Good stuff! :)

  • @MattayManiac Thank you!

  • Great review! It's a nice alternative to the standard NES. Btw, I just got a PS3 capture card, so let me know if there are any Playstation games you would like me to review

  • @thatNESfan Yeah I look forward to your PS3 reviews!! I like your style. And thank you again for your input.
