  • Lol what's Bill Maher doing in a hellhouse? Trolling?

  • Fucking hilarious

  • "She's out, let's rape 'er!"

    lmao

  • Comment removed

  • lol @ Bill Maher

    "I am Luucifurrrrr!! ...Assholes."

  • hehehe great actors!!!!

  • im glad this out there.... wanna these changed my life for ever

  • I recognized Pen Gillete and Bill Mahr! XD

  • always thought bill could be on the sneaky side ~

    O'reilly pwnd them a little 2 easily

  • lol why is Jesus gay?

  • 1:50 I love the way they did it they said that line the best

  • I love this way to go guys even the actors who don't belive that just goes to show what great preformers you really are : )

  • do they do this yearly, because i live in L.A now and im trying to go to some fun horror houses.

  • @lunatiksAlterEgo Unfortunately, no. I don't think it's been done since 2007, and this exact group only did it the one year.

  • This looks hilarious. I honestly didn't realize it was a satire until about halfway through though when I recognized Penn Teller and Bill Maher.

Christian fundamentalists are so absurd you can't really can't tell the difference between a parody of their beliefs and the reality of it. Scary.

  • Sigh...such a fine line between fundamentalism and satire. And they didn't even have to change the script to make it a comedy! Only the delivery.

  • @geezerbill Yes... sometimes not even the delivery was changed: just the context. We had a few devout audience members who absolutely didn't pick up that it was satire. And if you read the comments here, some of the viewers of that video think it was sincere, as well.

  • This is just so sick...

But this is a spoof of a Hell House, right?

Tell me it's a spoof... please... please... this can't be real... please tell me this isn't a real Hell House... tell me those aren't real Christians... hell this really scares me!

  • @Supenmanu It's a spoof. I promise. While some of the actors in the show were real Christians, none of them follow the far-right-American-Taliban version of Christianity that spawned the horrific Hellhouse phenomenon.

  • @MrElusive25 I DID notice that you're not white. Just like I noticed that the audience for the show was not all-white, or all-American. It ran for two and a half months, in Los Angeles, and I was there most nights. There didn't seem to be a racial divide among the audience members who liked it; there's the "survey" you were asking for. . You have to admit, it's kind of absurd to assume your perspective is the perspective of every non-white, non-American person. Isn't it?

  • @MrElusive25 If you think about it... kind of silly to assume that your opinion would be shared by over 5 billion people. If they're half-white would they find it half-funny? One of the positive commenters on this page is Canadian, and she thinks it's funny... does that count, or did you mean "white NORTH American people"? Are you totally sure that an atheist Filipino wouldn't find it funny? How about a Viet Namese girl adopted by strict Baptists and raised in Atlanta?

  • @EdNoon

I live in the Philippines and I wish there were a lot more Atheist Filipinos. :-(

  • George Carlin would have made the best lucifer. RIP George.

  • lucifer is sapposed to be sexy and androgenous

  • shes out lets rape her I love that line

  • hahaha... "I thought shooting my classmates would be fun."

  • LOL :D I've always thought the hell house was offensive and disgusting, but the Hollywood hell house is awesome! It looks like so much fun! (Unlike the Texas hell house, which will make you lose faith in humanity.)

  • lmao Patton Oswald "she's out, LETS RAPE HER!!" raves are fun lol

  • "She's out! Let's rape her!"

  • when are they going to bring this back? it was so much fun a few years ago

  • Bill Maher is definitely the best Lucifer i've seen xD

  • i would have loved to see this.

  • wtf Was that DAVID CROSS!! He is an atheist. did anybody else think that was david cross?

  • @KIINZEY I can tell you for sure that IS David Cross. I don't know if he's an atheist. From his participation in this show, I would guess he doesn't believe in the Devil, or Hell, at the very least. You know, like a sane person.

  • This IS a parody of the Hellhouses...lol

  • Bill Maher FTW

  • ok so were wer these hell house parodys , im asuming they were all seperate. btw Penn ftw

  • This is so fucked that it seems like a parody, but it's not... it's just sad....

  • @answersInNemesis Speaking as the guy who was holding the camera, I'm here to tell you that IT IS A PARODY. I would think that the presence of famous atheists like Penn or Bill Maher might have tipped you off. This was put on as a joke. Also, we thought it would be nice to show people with a non-medieval worldview what Christian extremists do for community theater.

  • obama should have tried out

  • fools in hell you all shall be,

  • Another Christian, bursting with God's love and compassion for us poor sinners. "Turning the other cheek" and "loving thy enemies" doesn't seem to resonate with you chimps. It's a pity you ignore the heart of Christ's message and concentrate so much on the medieval nonsense.

  • @necas00 These are just the acts of a Christian supremacists. No better then a white supremacists. Let me ask you this how do you where were going when we die? Who told you? Why do you believe this? Is it out of fear? Where you told at a little age? What makes you think there is such a place? If God is all merciful and just then why should hell be eternal?

  • This is a parody of the "hell house" exhibitions. The real issue isn't funny.

  • Comment removed

  • Jesus is coming back this fall, on TBS, I believe. Looking forward to it.

  • @EdNoon I can't wait! I hear that Carmen Elektra plays his wife. The promo I saw had her come out in a skimpy bikini and Jesus said his famous line, "Ohhhhhhh Carmeeeeen!" HILARIOUS!

  • @WarriorTione91 You have been so convinced by your pastor. Repent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Think for yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Feel as though you what's right. Not what some pastor or 2,000 year old bookSays I'm not asking you not to be a Christian anymore but be more open minded. Realize that other groups would say that you are wrong and we are right. That you would have to accept allah as your God and Muhammad as his prophet but not Jesushe was just prophet(Islam)

  • @WarriorTione91

You mean there's gonna be a sequel? Like 'The Gospel 2: Apocalypse' or something?

  • @WarriorTione91 AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHA!

  • oh God, that's awesome! XDD

  • Hollywood Hell House was absolutely great. Bill Maher was Satan the night we went and Andy Richter was Christ. Staging, makeup, effects, everything was terrific, very Halloween-y. Hell was expecially well done.

  • SHE'S OUT LET'S RAPE HER

  • My faves were Bill Maher and Penn. But everyone knows it's Teller who's the Antichrist.

  • Oh hey, the suicide girl is Nikki Payne, lol

  • I like Penn Gillette's wooly man-goat version.

  • lmao @ Paget Brewster at 2:29 !! Too funny!

  • Patton Oswalt is like a hardcore atheist...And a hilarious comedian.

  • bill murray would make an excellent satan

  • Just put some horns on his "Scrooged" character and there you go.

  • @philphie Bill Murray wasn't in this video... do you mean Bill Maher?

  • Hollywood Hellhouse is a spoof of Christian-themed haunted houses.

  • 1:49 Spens from King of Queens?? Never thought he is a religious douchebag.

  • Not a religious douchebag, obviously, since he's seen here participating in a PARODY of the Hellhouse phenomenon.

  • GAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY they all sec

  • I know separating fantasy from reality can be a chore, but you might give it a try.

The Holocaust was a historical event experienced and witnessed by millions of people in the 20th century, and hell is a mythical, non-existent place, experienced and witnessed by no one and appearing only in fairy tales.

It's a helpful metaphor, used by power-hungry clerics to convince ignorant fools to fill the collection plate out of guilt and fear. Hey, tomorrow is Sunday! Pay up.

  • Actually, according to Jesus Christ and the King James Bible, Hell is a real place. Of course I can't prove it the same way you can't prove it doesn't exist. As for me, I'll believe in the words of Jesus Christ in the King James Bible. You may want to look up Dr. Maurice Rawlings. He was an atheist doctor who became a Christian after seeing people on their death beds scream and panic before they died. The ones who were resuscitated described being in flames. Respectfully, repent.

  • "Respectfully, repent" is certainly more polite than your opening gambit of "ignorant fools".

This won't penetrate, but... the King James Bible is a translation of a translation of a translation, edited down by Roman Emperor Constantine from texts that predated him by centuries, none of which was written during Christ's life. We don't know what Christ said, just what some friends of his friends say he said, by way of the Roman Empire. "According to Jesus Christ"? No such thing.

  • @ghostnoteus Well according to JRR Tolkien in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Mordor is a real place. Of course I can't prove this, but you can't prove I wasn't riding an Ent last week to the convenient store either so CHECK and MATE buddy! As for me I will believe in the words of Gandalf the White. Note that I am not one of these idiots who believe in Gandalf the Grey. Morons don't know what is coming to them. I used to be a Christian and therefore an Atheist to the church of ME. REPENT!

  • I saw "The Producers." It was hilarious.

  • I would love to burn in hell with Bill Maher :-D

  • Penn just mentioned about this on his channel. He actually thought it was going to be different than expected.

  • he sure makes a good Satan, though

  • He said, about the people he was working with, "everyone I talked to was a deist. They believed in God. Every one of them. ...most of them believed in an afterlife, and most of them believed in some sort of reward and punishment in the afterlife" He thought it a bit hypocritical for people with faith to be making fun of others of faith. "Their argument was you should make fun of people who have gone to far with their faith"

  • As a deist, my response is that the key distinction between deism and theism is we don't subscribe to dogma. Deists don't perform "hell houses" in order to scare people into our world view, because we don't pretend to know what hell is like-- even if some of us think it might exist (I don't). We don't claim a holy book is infallible truth or as the guide to morality.

Sure, we have faith there's a creator, but still rely on reason and empathy to establish our world view- not on authority

  • Is this suposed to be a parody of the hell house documentary released in (i think) 1999

  • Not a parody of the documentary, a parody of the hell house phenomenon itself. It was a live show that ran a few years back in Los Angeles.

  • when is this gonna be on tv??

  • has the doc come out?

  • Brilliant!

  • Thanks.

  • this is strange.

  • I think penn gillette was the best satan, but bill mahr was pretty good too!

  • Bill Maher in this video saying he's Lucifer, what a shock! I mean how appropriate.

  • Unlike Lucifer, Bill really exists.

  • lol, true to that

  • In an interview, Pastor Keenan Roberts admitted that this filth is supposed to be viewed by 12 year olds. The Bible is a disgusting book. I used to read it with rose-coloured glasses, but now I can't escape the poisonous views contained within it.

    Deuteronomy 13:7-11

    Deuteronomy 31:15-18

You can justify anything with the Bible. Reverent Michael Bray defended Reverend Paul Hill who murdered John Britton in cold blood outside his abortion clinic.

  • hahaha poor paget...right in the gut...

BUT WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!!!!!!!!!!

  • whatever happened to Comic Relief?

...because I don't want to stand up. Don't want to st...

You don't want to do anything do you?

    No sir.

Now you went & saw a doctor didn't you?

    Yes sir.

and what did the doctor say?

    He said I was lazy.

  • Hey, I watched your "Hell House" video, and I was sort of disturbed that you edited out all of the scenes with Roddy McDowall in them. I mean, the man was one of our most gifted character actors--even playing a humanoid chimpanzee in "Planet of the Apes"--and I was truly disappointed to see his memory treated so disrespectfully.

    No, seriously, this looks hilarious.

  • Ha Ha! This is great. They have those thing around where I live and they are fucked up. They scare people into faith. Those fundamentalists creep me out. Im def gonna get this documentery.

  • Bill!

  • yea................... go Penn Jilett....

  • best way to show hell house

    lol

  • "She's out! Let's rape her!"

  • Oh your God, I must see more of this!

  • OMG PATTON OSWALT! I like to see entire doc.

  • There is another Hell House being produced for this Halloween ('07) so stay tuned!!!!

  • I think the hell houses are a creepy idea, but somehow, so is this.

  • i don't no what the hell this is, but i kind of like it. how did they get all these guys to do this?

  • so is this like a spoof of those serious fundamentalist hell houses?

  • It was made using the official script that fundamentalist hell houses use. As performed by a bunch of commedians, it was meant to be a spoof, yes. When you realize that this script (and/or its underlying concept) is taken seriously by a whole lot of people in this country, it's terrifying.

  • lawl

  • Dave,

Is this your film? If so I am looking forward to it.

    Pete

  • She's out! Let's rape her!

  • This is full of super funny people, Maher, Thomas, Oswalt, Cross , Penn, Richter, larry I can't wait too see the whole thing... I didn't recognize one of the devils. The really red one who said "I'm was responsible for Jessica's suicide"

  • I thought it was Taylor Negron at first, but after a few more looks, I'm not so sure.

  • I don't get it. What the hell is this? Is this real?

  • Every Halloween some evangelical churches will put on what's called a Hellhouse which is like their version of the haunted house. The intention is to teach the people about the "sins" on the world and how to avoid going to hell. This is a spoof that was done in Hollywood a coupe years ago. I think they're reciting actual dialogue used in the real Hellhouses.

  • cool

  • lol^^

  • holy crap. patton oswalt is the funniest guy on here. too bad you don't see much of him here.
