i have a voco pro cdg converter hooked up to a numark cdn 24s, with digital outputs. works good. sometimes takes a few seconds to load the disc, so it's not instant. i dont do karaoke all the time, (only contests during a dj gig) but it works for me :)
Hi there and thank you. PCDj is indeed my next step. I've almost got everything ripped into the HD and will be getting FX when it's all said and done.
Hey Brian, in a lot of places its actually against the law to rip CD+G files onto a HDD and playback using a computer, so to keep yourself right it may be an idea to just stick with CDG discs. To advance the setup you may also want to look into buying a 2nd CDG player and hooking it into a video mixer to allow switching between the players, so you can cue up one song while playing another. Makes things run a lot smoother
Actually, I bought 2 of thoes little players. One is still in the packaging. As far as ripping CD+G's I already own, I can't imagine there is anything anyone can do to me seeing how I own the masters. If there was ever a problem, I'd just show them my master discs.
I have heard that WINamp can play the CD+G files and allows you to rip them to Hard drive and burn them as well i think, hope this helps. need any more info jus ask. My girlfriends dad does karaoke so he tells me a lot about it!
I'm just wondering, how come you have to have a different dual CD deck and mixer for karaoke? Like I mean, you have a better Denon set don't you? Are these new CD's and mixer made for Karaoke?
That player works with CD+G. Like I said, it wouldn't fit in my existing rack with all the gear I already have in there so I thought perhaps I should build a secondary rack just for Karaoke. I was under pressure to put something together so I'm glad I found that small player. Worked like a charm last night!
lol what a mess with all that stuff! hope it all works out good. after the other day i can see why a kareoke set up would come in handy. great idea to get this sorted out.
why does'nt anyone make a computer karaoke software system that really works?

Those Numarks DO SUCK ... DON'T BUY THEM. A buddy of mine bought them the one side stopped working within a week.
