  • Would you recommend the Tactikka XP or the tikka plus 2? The tac xp comes in better colors and has filters however, seems bulky/heavy for a headlamp.

  • want good and powerfucl cree headlamp go to dealextreme?com

  • @AmericansSexualPreds

    Junk compared to the Petzl

  • I have this headlamp and use it all the time..I live in a dark forest area...it's great but the only complaint I have is that it only carries one of the spare lenses...I mean come on petzel how hard would it be to make the spare lens holder slightly larger...or simply add two more of the ones that already exist...

  • Thanks for the info and video. I'm interested in this one since it has a red filter, which would be good for night hikes around Tucson (in the summer). ;)

Do you think the lamp with the red filter would work well for hiking at night?

  • Thats where we are testing this one, and it's worked well for me so far.

I'll try to do a video at night using the various filters, but not sure how well that will come out

  • I ended up buying the tan one. It is awesome! Thanks for all the info. :)

  • Can you do a short video on how to change the filter on the main unit.

Just got my tactikka xp and dont want to break it....lol

The filter case on the strap is really hard to change, also why isnt the unit big enough to hold the spare filters too?????

  • thanks for the feed ack, we will do a video on that, it took me a while to change that too.. I thought I was going to break it

  • it runs 120 hours on low not 2 hours i through my package away but the batteries run forever with this thing do a google search. it was designed with input from special forces operators !!!! does one of these reviews tell us witch head light is the best??? also one of the lenses spreads the beam out witch is great for tasks !!

  • no we don't try to tell people what is best. we try to show you more about the gear than other ads or videos might show. We leave it up to you to decide what you buy or don't buy

We do plan some night tests, they are on the way

  • this was the first of your videos i watched after watching more i see you know your shit and are on it!!! sorry if my comment came off wrong i subscribed and love your sight!!!!!!

  • no prob, glad you like the videos, thanks for the feedback too

  • are you sure it says it only runs an hour on high i've had mine for a year use it a lot and haven't changed the batteries yet?

  • I use the green light not to disturb other animals in the woods when hunting, and is used by many other hunters trying not to spook game in the early morning or late evening.

  • good idea, thanks

  • the green lense should be for use with nightvision and it should not disturb it. Maybe you can try and tell us?

  • the green lens will still produce light in the visible spectrum, not the IR spectrum

I am not aware of any light filters that can change light from an LED into Infra Red

There are IR LEDs, of course, but they do not produce visable light

  • Yes I know you wont get IR light with the green lens. That is why I was wondering why "google" told me the green filter is for use with NV.

  • hmmm.. good question
