  • laggggg

  • Those= the most. Stupid iPhone spell check

  • Sergio has those Hogan like swing on the tour. He flattens his swing plane on the downswing, maintains a bent right arm until after impact and rotates through the shot. Hogan in every way!

  • @ocat1979 check out some film of Byron Nelson... Sergio is a carbon copy.

  • the reason why he hits his 4 iron 250.... pause at 0:10

  • @FunkyMonkey576 also why he hits it all over the planet... and thats why we love Serg.

  • @TheByrne21 lol true

  • @FunkyMonkey576 I'm a highhandicapper golfer, and relatively new to this game. But... why would a golfer want to hit a 4 iron 250 yards... if he can do it much more effortlessly with a hybrid or a 5-7 wood. Same with... idk... J.Daly... PW 150 or idk...

  • @ivanriverogolf well first of all welcome to the game and second of all why wouldn't you? if your able to hit your clubs longer than usually you have a big advantage. for example, bubba watson was the same distance as this one guy he was playing with. the other guy hit a 7 iron and bubba hit a pitching wedge. its hard to compete with that because you can be more accurate with a pitching then a 7, get my point?

  • @FunkyMonkey576 I hope so. Mm I know a PW gets it up in the air higher. But couldn't you stop the ball with a seven if you know how to properly swing it through the ball. I mean Seve was able to do that with woods (hopefully not an urban legend). Why is it hard to compete against that then? Funnily enough.. my logic tells me pros could, therefore, get out there with a PW, I5, Driver, SW and Putt. Why do they have them all in the bag then?

  • @ivanriverogolf like i said its hard because they can hit less club and be more accurate. even if you do hit a 7 iron good to spin it you wont get as much with lets say a pw. but if your a big hitter it doesn't mean that they are better because there short game may not be so good. im a golfer as well, and im small for my age so i dont hit it far, but my short game is really good. that is why tiger dominated the game through 1997-2009, he hit it far and has a ridiculous short game

  • Best ball striker in the world! Now he can putt a major is just around the corner!

  • Sergio's form got better & better throughout 2011.

2012 is going to be a great season for him!

  • I dont think there's a swing in golf that lags like this. no wonder why this man is such a great striker..way to be serge, just work it out between the ears kid-o!

  • How can he swing so slow and yet hit it so far?

  • @PayForAll Slow-Mo Camera...

  • Just like the Spanish football team... taking ages to smash it up

  • Lag has always been a homemark of garcias swing and it's not a problem, the problem is his putting and mental game. all the things that tiger "was" best in...:/

  • One of the most consistent swings ever. One motion all the time. Look how nice his clubpath his bang on not under or over. All his problems are mental. The best ballstriker out there end of

  • Everyone is praising his swing, its filled with faults hence why he doesn't win. He is a Corey Pavin sized guy trying to hit it out there with Bubba, he can do it but its not a swing he can win consistently with.

  • @LtDansGamertag dude, i saw him at the us open pebble beach last year, and he was no doubt the second best ball striker there next only to tiger, he definitely has some problems with his mental game more than anything

  • right off the hosel! shank!

  • Come on people, it's called plane shift. The backswing plane is steeper the than the downswing plane. Half the guys on tour do it. The big diff with Sergio is that he has more than most, and he does all of it at the top. Most others do it more in the actual downswing. Sergio also down-cocks like Hogan, but that is a separate issue, you can down-cock from a flat or steep downswing plane.

  • Wake up, guys! His swing isn't all that great. If it was, he'd have won something by now. Great athlete, but gets so deep, laid off and open he can't consistently square up the club under pressure. Choked away the 2007 British Open because he couldn't trust his swing on the 72nd hole, not because he "couldn't putt". Even Faldo knows this and has called out his father/instructor on it during broadcasts. Just because it is pretty doesn't mean it's good, let alone the "best". Get serious.

  • One of the best, if not the best swing at the moment.

  • That is one ridiculous lag! wow...

  • thats not a nice swing

  • @RushTeez yeah, because you're a professional golfer right?

  • Dropping??? He's not "dropping" anything. He's a down loader. He loads his shaft on the way down and his shaft is right through his right forearm...where it should be. What makes his swing look the way it does is that Sergio can swing his hands and arms down lower than probably anyone before than shaft is released (lag). He does it because he keeps his right shoulder back so long. Look at his hip line compared to shoulder line. hips are well open and hands are still swinging down.

  • Sergio does not "drop the club and come from the inside". Look at 0:10 and you will se the club pointing directly to the camera. Had it been inside it would point to the left of the camera or be lower than the hands.

Leadbetter describes in his books how the swing plane should flatten in the downswing but the club head should never fall below the plane that is formed by the club shaft at setup.

  • Topped it!

  • @esaitta3 fuck you

  • @MrRobeezy29 Be Nice. No bad words

  • @MrRobeezy29 Take it eezy Bobert.

  • @Austinmcadams78 he did try and fix it. Compared to his older swing he tries to stay more on plane now especially with his driver. But yes most people do drop a little. I'm just saying its too much to the point where it would hurt any normal persons swing to try and do as much as sergio does

  • If only Paddie weren't around!

  • @BeavisDude88 im not saying it isn't fine. He hits the ball very well, or at least good enough to win. Just saying it takes an incredible amount of hand eye coordination, and it isn't exactly a swing you try and look at to improve your own swing

  • @danee6281

lol wtf r u talking about.....Everyone who has ever been good at golf has Sergio Garcias swing is almost perfect.

  • @justinp766 nobody who has been great has ever dropped the club that much or attempted that much lag. The lag is good though, but thats also the coordination part. You could ask sergio himself dropping that much is not good

  • @danee6281

You have obviously never heard of a gentleman by the name of Ben Hogan....he didn't exactly suck.

  • @CarolinasPGApro what the fuck are you talking about. Hogan was great and he DID NOT drop the club anywhere close to as much as sergio

  • @danee6281

please see hogan video below... it's on youtube

"Ben Hogan Attack of the Hawk"

p.s no need to get vulgar...just saying you CAN drop the club and come WAY from the inside and be VERY successful.

  • @CarolinasPGApro it was a wonderful video that i enjoyed watching. I'm not sure what point you were trying to make, but ben hogan had one of the best swings ever.

And I agree you can drop and be a great ballstriker like sergio, but as I have said it takes a lot of hand eye coordination. Coordination most amateur golfers, or golfers in general don't have

  • @danee6281

Agreed on that point. The point I was trying to make is if you just look at the downswing, Sergio and Hogan are on the same plane (shaft goes through the right forearm at p6), sergio just has a funny way of getting there since his backswing is much more upright, whereas Ben stayed on that plane the whole time.

  • graceful finish

  • the swing actually isnt all that good, but he has incredible hand eye coordination, which allows him to hit the ball extremely well even with a poor swing

  • sick shoes... sicker swing

  • where did the ball go??

  • too bad he was at his best when tiger was playing good

  • @cardiffparkour07 After these two weeks I think his best is yet to come

  • to bad he got the yips bahahaha

  • ewwww

  • hes a pro shopup he knows wat hes doin

  • he can putt, just not good enough to win majors

  • if only he could putt... are u fucking kidding me you dumb fucked cunt

  • @willnicklaus12 Be Nice

  • @willnicklaus12 whoa... whoa

  • I have the feeling if a pro instructor recorded my swing and i layed the club off like sergio that he would try to get me to make the top of the back swing more verticle pointing to the target. What negatives are there if any that can happen with a layed off swing like sergios?

  • @JAKEHARRIS281 you can push it or hook the ball depending on how quickly you release the hands

  • @JAKEHARRIS281 there is more of a chance of dropping the club on the inside in the downswing and possibly hitting a push as the clubface may be open.

  • its because he always hangs his head after a bad putt.

i think once professionals are said to be bad putters it becomes very difficult for them to play consistent on the greens...

  • With that swing, I don't get it why this guy has only a few wins and no majors to this day.

  • @MrJaromirhladik theres this thing called 'short game' in golf....

  • @BoHoVsGolf Yeah could be. But I reckon Sergio is pretty good with his short game, I mean, not the best in the world - but he can really get it up and down. There's also the thing called nerves competitive golfers need through with. I guess if a golfer such as garcia fails on the aspect, that's when things fall apart from long game to short game.

  • If only he wasn't an asshole

  • One of the most dynamic, best swings on tour. Also one of the best ball strikers in the world. I can't believe how stupid some people are...I wonder if they even play golf, or better yet those golf newbs who think the only that can play is tiger.

  • if only he could put, stfu cunts and stop saying that! his a better putter then u RA1NM4N94 u studpid usless faggot

  • Sergios grip is just nuteral, when he was younger he played a strong grip due to his over active hips

  • Also, he hits a clear fade on this vid, while still using very much hand manipulation through the hitting area.... not good. Simple as that.

  • @TheRealOzzie234 better than yours

  • @maginick24

You clearly see he doesn't by just watching this vid. Check his wrist angle at top, and check the clubface angle. Weak grip.

  • so much friggin lag!

  • Classic example of bringing the club from upright angle to a flatter angle or bringing the club into the slot...

  • You see a good swing?? Get real. I see a crap swing.

  • @TheRealOzzie234 haha are you retarded? hes probably in the top 5 best ball strikers on tour and hes crazy long too and hes tiny.......just cant putt to save his life

  • @TheRealOzzie234 have you been one of the best players in the world? didnt think so

  • He has the swing of a typical "fader" trying to avoid a something worse. How about you strengthen up that grip some to avoid dipping your club behind you arse in the backswing Sergio?

  • @TheRealOzzie234 he has one of the most strongest grips and he definitely takes the right side of the course out of play buddy.

  • @TheRealOzzie234 He has the swing of a drawer. He's weakening his grip right now cause he has an injured wrist and wants to avoid cocking it fully. Your grip will not influence your club plane dumbfuck

  • Is this the new Augusta driving range? Oh, nice swing Sergio!

  • @lilgolfjock that is the old one. it was crap as you can tell.

  • All good professionals are great ball strikers and good out of bunkers and chipping.....most of there problem is the putting...its all about who's putts are dropping on the day

  • lmao yeah only if he could putt... he lost his swing too this year

  • this dude has so much talent but he is a punk.

  • @stackleft I'd be a punk too if I was the worlds #1 at being #2... I guess...

  • i think he would be better if he played with an interlocking grip haha i am just kidding people i am just being that ignorant guy that tries to give pros lessons haha

  • always amazes me how soft he keeps his left knee

  • shit lol look at the lag crazy :)

  • best ball striker on tour easily

if he could putt decent he would be scary good

  • Damn! this guy should have about 5 majors.

  • @golfer2301

instead he has 5 runner ups, he is not clutch when it counts the most

  • @golfer2301 it all takes time my friend

  • @golfer2301 At least!

  • if only he could putt . lol

  • Look at that damn power omg

  • look at his foot line... that ball looks pretty straight

  • great video!
