It's a fact, is some kind of obsession between Jaws Harps and Outdoorsmans, lol. I've got a small collection and I usually bring them to the wild. They are light, small, fun and the sound doesn't impact with nature. Amazing instrument.
I love This instrument but wish I could mine to produce noise I have a different shaped one if anyone could post a comment or link helping me it would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks
So is the new Hat for Busking : ) id chuck a quid in if your were outside Shepherds Bush Train Station ! Cool Instrument, Great for round the Camp Fire.
Nice! You play it well! If you fancy another sort of Jews Harp, try the Vietnamese type called a Dan Moi. I find them much easier to play really fast, and easier to get a loud sound from, plus you can even make them from Bamboo (the brass ones are louder though). Could be a neat fireside carving project.
another small instrument to check out is a thumbdrum (sansa, kalimba, thumb piano). It is on a 4 inch by 8 inch cedar wood board with 7 metal parts that you play with your thumbs. just another small musical instrument that fits in the same category as a harminca
Good memories for me !!! One more thing that use to bring us all together at gatherings , music and stories , the distractions that made us family and gave us roots , history and a way to pass it on !!! P.S. I knew you were going to put that tail on a hat : ) ha , ha , ha .
That is so funny, I used to love playing one when I was younger ... my family said I was good, but I suppose they would, I was ten. You sound good. And I notice you play it with your finger, I used to play with my thumb, pushing the other way.
Needs more cowbell. ;-)

Hey Sean, this is so cool.
The beat and the sound was sometimes very modern.
The next time you play Jaw Harp, I make the beatbox. :-)
All the best to you.
Greetings Tito

Seems a Fox tail would have been more appropriate for the hat.

If you hit a tooth with one it really hurts. My brother used to have one. Here in America it's usually synonymous with backwoods music.
