  • This guy's talent doesn't even need to be stated. Great job!

  • Awesome! I love how he looks kinda bored. Means he knows what he's doing.

  • Jackson, like a true commander!!!

  • I loved!! Is it a online school?? I wanna subsc!

send me a link when tender surrender be ready.

  • Nice playing, dude! Take a look at some of my covers and see if you like any!

  • Nice bro ! check my covers

  • Kid Your Really Great, Im very impressed.

    Now imago learn the song!

Thanks for a little inspiration :P

  • awesome!!!!

  • Nice! The only thing i miss in this video, is a bit feelings in your playing! For me it seems like you are just playing without putting any soul in it, and it ruins a lot imo. Otherways, good job!

  • excellent plying for one so young, keep it up

  • WOW! holy shit this kid is good

  • Joe satriani ist und bleibt einzigartig!

  • wow!

  • Great performance. Where is the end? Is it true that Jacksons have pickups in the neck?

  • Fantastic!! Keep it up!

  • Great play man how long you the guitar now you are so great

  • Great job! Keep it up and never stop practicing. No one, not even yngwie was born with the talent he achieved. play till your fingers bleed.

  • Young man, you've got talent!! Just remember one thing: enjoy yourself while you're playing, and you'll find the song flowing even better ;-)

I'm curious to hear you playing over time, because if you're already this good at 13, well... The sky's the limit for your musical future :-D

  • great job!

  • Bn offline 4 a while but really have to give credit to all young dudes like this who obviously put in 110% to become great musicians. I did notice that the track played over the top was a little out during the tapping section but so long as it is him playing the overdubbing it don't matter about mistakes in the vid ESP. 4 13 y.o. Cool

  • That's Nice that 13 years old kid is such TASTEFULL ^.^

  • God damn.

  • Nice going man, if you're this good at 13, can't wait to see what you sound like at 31.. :)

    START COMPOSING MAN!!!

  • nice job! Keep on the good work!

  • Dude,

Your one of the coolest little bad asses I've seen in a long time. You definitely have a great career in music ahead of you. I would like to see some of your original stuff. Keep up the good work.

    Mike

  • sounds good very talented just try to play without the music playing on earphones. that is the key.

  • a bit of advice ,always remember to compose your own music. thats key.

  • Fuck yea!!!!!

  • Well played :) Keep up the great work, Long live the Satch :)

  • neh!

  • Well done kyle nice cover, need to fix up something but not bad ;D

  • 8/10 where's the passion..good though

  • tattoo? he looks about 16.. not 13 :P

  • Great! Sounds good!

  • amazing video, great cover, keep up the good work.

  • Dude thanks for this video that you send me. YOU ARE GREAT I HOPE YOU MAKE BETTER THINGS ....

  • tender surrender tres bon morceaux de steve vai ! et bravo au jeune garçon seulement 13ans et tres bon guitariste!!

  • great fantastic work budd !!!!!!!!!

  • Very good

  • who care how old are you just do you best.

  • Work on your vibrato, make it ring out. Let it tell the story you're trying to tell on your guitar, it should encompass all of the emotions of the piece. This will of course come with time, but just pay attention to it and treat it like your baby. Trust me, it'll pay off.

  • Im 16 and I just got the hang of sweep picking. This kid is 13 and he is already playing Joe Satriani songs. Very well done Kyle!

  • Not perfect, but still awesome. Dude, you're 13 and not somebody like bieber fan... Now I've gained a new hope.

  • nice playing you got there good job...

and btw is that tattoo on your hand and if it is what is it couse it looks familiar to me :)

  • @psyhodad100 Fake tattoo from summer holidays.

  • Time to graduate to Vai's Juice!

  • it makes me fell useless

  • Cool video. You're getting very good tone, and that's much more important than just being able to play things. Keep it up.

  • very very nice!!! good job!!!

  • it's near perfect! very good , bro!

  • Nice one there :) I still prefer Joe's though ^^

  • nice!

  • great playing,,sweet sound..

  • @tucktimosprime Thanks man. And thanks for the backing tracks, I use them a lot.

  • dammit...guess its back to drums for me...

  • nice

  • great cover

  • Great stuff!! I haven't looked at this one yet, think ill give it a go.

  • Niiice!! Keep up the great technique Kyle :)

  • I'm 15 and all I can say is kudos. I'll learn it eventually, but for your age, that's just awesome. (nice guitar btw) The only advice I can give you, get into it moar. Feel it!

  • Awesome man! Keep it up :)

  • I like it, Good job !

  • pretty good brotot

  • hello Kyle and Andy,

what a pleasure to hear such a talented guitarist at age 13.

i noticed that you're very motivated and working very very nice

about your vibrato and all Feel stuff which i think is very important.

salute at you Andy for teaching so well :-)

    all the best both !!!

    Raz

  • I dont believe he is only 13

  • Yeah pretty good!!

  • You want to know what I Think ? Amazing men ;) Guard the contact x) We play together a day x)

  • he looks like he doesnt want to play it but someone forced him lmao

but its very good for a 13 year old yes

  • Its good. You need some work on your vibratos, bends and whammy bar but it is pretty good overall. You will be able to play this almost perfect in no time. I also noticed that the big stretching part is "wrong"...I have never been able to play it like it is supposed to be. I think Joe's guitar has smaller frets or something...or he has very big hands :|

  • Hey man! Very good.

  • dislikers are just jealous!! ;)

  • This guy is great hope he keeps up practising !

  • You're Good It's Amazing that you're only 13!! Can you play Tender Surrender by Steve Vie!!?

  • @androknroll Tender Surrender will be Kyles next video.

  • @onlineguitarschool i'll believe that when i see it. tender surrender is absolutely ridiculous!!!!!

  • @androknroll btw its vai

  • not bad...

  • If he puts more effort into his transitions, I think he could do something with this. To achieve that, however, he needs to use more prowess throughout his entire body, not just his fingers. Like everyone else says..."feeling"

  • A W E S O M E !!

    D:

  • Pretty good, but i see no feeling man... play it with passion.

  • awesome

  • Great stuff! Ofcourse he needs to get his technique a bit polished and his bends. Emotion will come in time when he feels more comfortable I'm sure. Keep playing!

  • dont spam me with this tripe

  • its pretty good, but wheres the passion?

  • @brandonmarks13279 what the hell are you talking about, he's a 13 year old kid playing a satch song, passion is for the retards, this kid has skills

  • ok, u asked for my feed back so here it goes. first of all, i noticed that ur a very stiff player. work on those vibratos. also that harmonic ur supposed to hit 0:56 its supposed to b just the open B string. the solo was incorrect. just go down the dorian scale. at 1:43, gotta make that smoother. the 2nd solo at 2:38 was incorrect. try watching some videos of satch and see how its done. keep practicing!

  • @epeemstr correction, not going down dorian, its C sharp frigian lol

  • @epeemstr good feedback there, its cool to ask opinions and nice to send advises 8-)

  • Very calm and relaxed. I like to see it, he plays guitar with a very cool

  • RIght On!

  • not bitter enough. just stab my heart please.

  • Very good. I didn't expect a 13 year old to be able to play that well. My friend ErikEspangberg here on YouTube plays the guitar and he's also quite good. But I think that even him could learn a thing or two from your young student.

  • 13 yr old wtf will he do when he's 30...

  • that's pretty cool bro. I think your right hand needs a bit more practice. Keep it up.

  • Awesome, would love to see him play tender surrender.

  • Nice, stay on the way.

  • not bad

  • awesome!

  • glad to be part of the discussion folks...

I has the same impression when watching the video I had a 2d listening and... the music doesnt 'flow' from the guitar same way when Satriani plays it so yes, lack of emotion, sorry ;-(

Quite impressive and talented young lad I reckon he should just go for it :-)

  • Everyone thinks of his/herself as a fucking music teacher when they comment on videos like this. You all look pretentious, and it's obvious that the hollow critiques you leave are just to make you feel like you know what you're talking about.

  • very good guitar playing. I wish I'd played like you at 13

  • Impressive. You can see he's concentrating - which is good. However I think the next stage is to 'feel' the song and 'show emotion'...or find your own version of the song and project it. Kyle is only 13 - so you can't be too hard (I think this requires some maturity). Everyone grows differently. But then again...he may prefer to be more of a 'technical guitarist'...which perhaps is less connected and more detached. But he's got ability. Good luck with it.

  • He makes it look easy. I never heard a better cover by an amateur guitar player. This kid is good. Keep rocking.

  • outstanding

  • So young and already so talented.Keep up the good work;practice makes perfect :-)

  • this child is great!!!!!

  • this kid is so amazingly awesome and he is as calm as the edge and as crazy as steve vai

    love him so much

  • pretty damn cool...i was just a fat bastard when i was 13 ....wait, i still am.....

  • i,like,it,i,luv,it,i,should,buy,it,you,have,excactly,the,looks,somebody,i,know,very,well,you,handsome,as,he,is

  • Well you look like you don't like to play. If your forced to do this then just say no!!!

  • new strings? Hehe

well... all it's fine, BUT... you have to Feel the music. Its something like, for example: What's your most favorite song? that song that moves your head and your feet when you hear the drums, that song that makes you sing it!, or maybe not a song, but big sorprise in your life, a person who you love, or something that it's important in your life. It's like that, music its a big emotion, so you can play it with that.

    Good Luck!

  • cool cover dude. thanks for request. people watching this if u wanna hear cool original music please check out my page.

  • Comment removed

  • congrats and thx for the request , now u have to compose something

  • mate thats fucking impressive!! you play better than me lol :DD

  • Here is a recent comment from Whispering a Prayer Live by Steve Vai.

"I would probably like this more if he wasnt making those stupid faces... ok never mind i probably wouldnt like it anyway....it feels like in an attempt to play something deep and emotionally impacting.... he straight up missed it.

    retx101 4 days ago"

    Get my point?

  • @onlineguitarschool What "stupid faces" are you talking about assface? The kid made it look easy. So fuck' em if you feel indignified! I'm on His side if you have a problem.

  • @chubbzeeubbzee Dude, I'm quoting from a Steve Vai video to prove the point that if Kyle did put facial expression into his video some people would rip him for that too. I uploaded the video and Kyle is my student. We're on the same side. Thought the assface comment was funny though.

  • Ok guys. Thanks for all your comments. I think this issue of Kyle playing without emotion is getting a bit old. He is concentrating on his playing and you have to appreciate that if he did start moving his face he would be torn apart because of it.

  • @onlineguitarschool I have to admit that he seems to be bored to death by what he is doing. Maybe thinking of dinner time. And, by the way, i'm 100% sure that he will be way better if he played with emotion, shaking his head and making stupid faces during hard parts.

(Sorry for my shitty english, i learned by reading youtube comments (True Story) ;D)

  • (But damn, you must be a GREAT teacher, he is AWESOME!)

  • @onlineguitarschool That was great! The ones that dislike this probably dislike it because you're so young (Which is even more insane, you have my respect). And because they are crying right now due to jealousy. Keep it up. You rock!

    -Hiems.

  • need emotion man. become one with the music. take your emotions out!

  • wow! just like my idol JOE SATRIANI!!! go son, make your mama proud....play some more joe's!!!

  • put some felling to it

  • Very cool and the technique is solid, but I'm going to echo the other comments and say maybe a bit more expression on his face like he is enjoying it some more would be great!

  • hes good but he needs to work on bends

  • you got it brother. but you make it look so easy

  • nice one!

  • joe satriani is the inspiration for the world, even god himself learned from joe!

  • Great cover mate! Satch is a blues based player, so try to put some more feeling into your playing. Anybody can play something perfect, not everybody can FEEL that it's perfect.

  • bravo perfect my friend

  • I remember when I learnt this... nice work dude.

  • Very nice. I'd love to hear you play some SRV.

    Keep it up.

  • omg, He knows how to play the guitar! :)) but something that really bothers me, is that he doesn't seem to enjoy his skills at al.. :(

  • @XholynOldSchool Yeh I know what you mean. He got no "'tude"

Still, he sure can play and i wish I could play half as well.

  • hahaha EFF YEAH!!!

  • hey bud thanks for linking me your video you did great! should leave a comment on my channel for my version of surfing! thanks! =D

  • Great cover of Satch. You are very talented.

  • wow I agree bloody amazing and never missed a beat.... give him a bottle of Jack, 80000 fans and let's see if he rocks!!!

  • very cool !

  • Like a boss. You rock, buddy.

  • Dude great job! loved it! :)

  • Favorited. Thumbs up. Awesome playing!

  • It's fine :D Next step, smile a bit more....damnit....what's the use having such skills if you ain't enjoying 'em?? :D

  • Smokin Hot, Awesome, Cheers for forwarding it on. Looking forward to seeing more

  • how did you get that tone? what equipment did you use? tone is great.

  • @Coppulor Hi thanks for the comment. The guitar was recorded using guitar rig.

  • @onlineguitarschool

thanks!! really sounds absolutely killer!! is there any way to get this sound live? do people hook laptops up to amps onstage these days?

  • @Coppulor Yeah if you use Mainstage on a mac you can pull guitar rig through it and then out to your PA or just use Guitar Rig on its own. We've never done it but I know it can be done.

  • @onlineguitarschool

    thanks yo!

  • Thanks for sending me this video Kyle. What do I think ? Its very good, and, I know that you know it lacks that little something, you know, a maturity. That will come Kyle no question about that. Check some of those little North Korean children on Youtube playing, they seem to have a 6th sense when it comes to playing with emotion. Keep up the good work, Grow your hair and keep rockin...G...

  • great job from a fellow shredder... dont listen to these haters that dont like our music because you dont have someone else autotuning it for you XP

  • If this guy had a big stupid grin on his face you would all say he's cocky and to stop smiling so much! How about just rate him on his abilities for once?? Great cover dude :)

  • Now learn to play blues and get some soul in ya son!!!

  • Awesome man!!! Keep it up.

  • Dude, really great. You've got talent! But I have to admit, a little bit emotions will do the extra. Everybody have the chance to learn how to play guitar good, but not all got the "devotion". I just know that when I play, I love to jump around and stuff. Keep up the good work!

  • AWESOME!

  • wow, he seems to really enjoy playing this...

  • Wow!!! Kicks ass!!

  • Well done buddy, I just wish you looked a little more interested! You're missing the emotion that goes with ANY good performance, but I'm sure you'll display more of it as you get older. Keep at it mate. When I was 16, I had to learn this with nothing but a cassette tape (check wiki for that one!) and the Play-It-Like-It-Is tab book :)

  • Got the message bro. Nice cover. Keep rocking!!!

  • Sounds great, but I just miss the emotions beyond it, if I see artists playing songs live I see them enjoy, when I see covers on Youtube tey look like they were forced to do it. Makes it fun to listen but the fun to watch is gone...

  • 6666 views O_O!

  • wow hes awesome

  • I'm the 6 666th viewer and I gotta give you your 37th "like" because I must learn playing guitar!

  • Comment removed

  • Awesome... I wish I had those skills when I was 13.

  • Wow! Very impressive. He'll have lead guitar syndrome in no time! lol

  • great work -

  • LOVE SATRIANI-- great work KYLE--rjm-germany

  • damn, and i was thinking i was good by covering last resort by paparoach as an nearly 15 year old guy... keep up the great work bro

  • nice cover :)

  • Awesome! How long have you been playing? I'm 14 and I think you're better than me.

  • this is near perfect perfect would be if he could do it without looking but i mean really who can do that and what are you gonna do stair at the camera the whole time that would be freaky and i like how he found time to scratch his nose in the middle of the song i also noticed he used up down picking which is great because if you get used to doing that it is a very hard habit to break all around amazing.
