I have the complete disc of Atlantov singing Pique Dame and must say that he is amazing! I love his version of this role. I am so happy to say that even better then Atlantov is Misha Didyk! I saw him a few times in the Flemish Opera and he was brilliant. Misha as Ghermann is like Neil Shicoff for Les Contes D'Hoffman, made for the role! I have read that he will be singing with Angela Gheorghui in La Rondine. On his website you can hear a bit of his version of Ghermann.

Yes, made for this role. I heard him at SF Opera do it about this time. He had one of the handfull of really big tenor voices I've ever heard. Pity the Soviet Union didn't fall earlier and we would have had more of him sooner.
