I'm impressed that Jung is incorporated in this lesson. The harmonica used to appeal to my persona and ego, now it appeals to shadow and trickster archetype. In my musical journey I anticipate the harp and Blues culture to be discovered as integrated with my SELF archetype. Thanks for the lesson. Also, I just purchased the "Turnarounds" lesson from Modern Blues Harmonica store and it aided in the elevation of my playing in a matter of minutes. I recommend it!
Hmm... The warrior metaphor is a good one. The aggression is there. But the skill required to bring that agression out as a coherent, interesting piece of music is something that takes good skill and practise...
Admitting that he made a mistake with a sincere laugh, that what makes this man big as a teacher and as a musician. Thanks for this valuable lesson Adam.
Adam, Now I know you understand your craft: everything you spoke of here is the same as T'ai Chi and it's energy flow. Yes, you are a Master, because you've never been afraid to be the student. My admiration for you continues to grow.
Many thanks, I'm learning and it's more about the scales, eh?
Big Walter is a beautiful example. He has such a sweet sound in some spots, and then his sound turns raw and menacing. One of the biggest things I appreciate about blues harp.
Improv and mistakes go hand in hand... but that's what makes our journey's our own. Like Robert Frost said "... and that has made all the difference."
Adam, I was in a rut, harpwise till you started these videos - there are slicker ones, but few as inspiring. I've always thought that music is the only real 'spiritualism', in that thrpugh recordings we can feel the spirit of long-dead and unknown musicians today, and the harp is the nearest thing to an instrument as an extension of the body there is - lips, heart and lungs.
Your points can be applied to many things. It's what I needed to hear on a day like this. Thanks for teaching what's needed to be heard. I, personally, take it to heart. I'm still a beginner at the harp; but I'm an advanced artist. It all fits in.
Adam, I'm a pretty advanced player but I'll subscribe to you site because you should be supported. What you do is a treasure. Great work. -- Sam Blancato, Pittburgh
WOW, this is exact thing im into right now.Improv. Hehe, i laughed about "if you mess, just keep going", its all true. Too bad it happens to me often :D . Listening and practice is the key. another great lesson, looking forward to next one

That's what we should do. Drop a cargo plane load of harmonicas in the Middle East. That way we won't have to defend against their attacks.
Too bad it doesn't actually work that way...
