@bulldogrj5020 The only Russian made AK's are the Saiga conversions. You want to buy an Arsenal SGL21 (probably what you are thinking of when you say "NOT THE BLACK ONE") and then buy a set of wood furniture (furniture is what people call the stock and foregrip) and replace the black plastic with wood. That will get you a classic looking Russian AK. You can also go to Atlantic Firearms and search for the "Russian RAK" on their search box and buy one of those.
At 0.10 he says that it's a Romanian WASR-10. Your gun probably just needs to be shot and it'll loosen up. This is something that most new firearms need. A break-in period. I haven't read any specific documentation for the WASR but it should work fine with a little use. Although the WASR isn't my #1 choice for an AK pattern weapon they are usually very inexpensive and easy to obtain.
I don't want to get in an AK vs. AR debate, but I noticed a lot of people here seem to like the AK. If the AK is your choice system to protect your household, it's a damn good choice! Mine shoots pretty accurate, and I am not a marksman. I like it because I feel like a have a part of history with me now!

It's been awhile since I handled an AK (2004 in Iraq). But since I bought a WASR 10 rifle, I had to see if I can disassemble/assemble it. I forgot how to put the the bolt assembly group back to the receiver. Thanks to your video I was able to put it back.
@JohnFromSpace .22 short, .22 long, .22 long rifle, .22 mag, .17 mach 2, .17HMR, 5mm remington magnum, .17 aguila........the .22lr, .22 mag and the .17HMR are the most popular. I highly recommend you get yourself a bolt action .22lr to practice with because the ammo is cheap yet it is a really accurate round.

the m16 very complicated to disassemble however the ak is very simple and more reliable. however the m16 is more accurate and has better range. ak has better stopping power but i still like the m16 better. as long as you keep it clean it works fine
@BushmasterXM15E2S A Romanian AK. The earlier versions had problems with canted front sights and mag wobble, but I believe the newer versions don't have this anymore. Henderson defense sells a certified WASR if you're really worried about canted front sights and mag wobble.
That isn't how you replace the receiver cover. On most AKs you'll struggle for hours to get the return spring latch to pop thru the square hole. SOLUTION: When you push the spring in, set the latch below the groove slot in the receiver. Replace the cover, hold it in place and pull back the bolt. The button will rise up and pop right thru the square hole. Old trick. Saves a lot of effort.

not a full strip, or at least not on the yugo m70, as after you remove the upper furniture, the lower comes off and also should be clean as much of the residue makes its way into there from the receiver.
I have a rock river AR, an Essential arms lower and Colt upper build, a WASR 10 AK and a Chink Mak 90 AK. At a hundred yards the AKs CONSISTENTLY shoot tighter groups and better placed rounds. Out past 150 yards the situation reverses.
I like the bigger rounds of the AK, and I am an older guy (54 years old) so that my eyesight wont really permit shooting longer distances accurately.

This is a great an informative vid. For those of u who dont no field stripping is for cleaning purposes. If u own a gun it is highly recomended you no how to field strip it. I fired an m4 that had a ar15 upper with bi pod. And i also fired an ak. The ar was extremely acurate but i love the kick on the ak. I found it more fun to shoot.
Sometimes the back of the cover gets bent and you just can't get it back on, especially the WASR, as it is made cheap as anything. I had to get a pair of pliers and bend mine back into shape.
The term "gas" is the high pressure gas that forms when the bullet is fired
The gunpowder blows up, making a lot of high pressured gas, this gas is what forces the bullet out at high speed.
In civil war guns, this gas was wasted and just blasted out of the barrel right behind the bullet, making a lot of recoil, or "Kickback"
The AK uses this gas to eject the empty casing, chamber the next round, and arm the hammer, using the gas tube to push a piston which moves the charging handle back

I noticed a couple things when i stripped my AK that I want my smith to have a look at. The pin that holds the piston to the bolt carrier is pushed out of one side. It's in there tight, but not symmetrical. Also, though the mating is flush, the piston is not true with the bolt carrier. It veers to the right about five degrees.
Sounds like i need to get a smith to put a roll pin into the piston/carrier mating and possibly true the piston rod
Usually no. Even if you are left handed the brass usually ejects forward, towards the front of the gun.
You will get some blow back though, and it's always best to place the ejection port side of the gun away from your body, so the brass doesn't fly in front of your field of view.
so you can clean all the parts firing the gun makes everything dirty all soldiers are told that if there is time after firing to clean their rifle and that will make it work smoothly for the next firing this process also stops premature wear of the barrel especialy and all the other parts

@empv2 when most "normal" Americans think of Eastern Europe they jump to the middle east and media clips of afghan gun battles or iraq gun battles, so yes, many Americans are not educated on European history, this is mainly because the only parts we are required to learn about European history is the original Europeans the founded America, besides that, we learn nothing about European history unless you chose to take it as a course in collage or highschool. honestly.most people really dont care

@empv2 on your comment about killing unarmed civilians, anyone i shot at never was unarmed, legally for me to be able to shoot at them they had to fire at me first or a squad member because that is the ROE, finally the reason Americans accidental kill unarmed civilians in Iraq or Afghanistan is because the pussy enemy's use them as cover because we wont kill a whole crowd of unarmed people to get one bad guy, we have to let them walk,even if he got one of us. that said, accidents do happen

American is the country where a civilian can obtain a rifle like this the easiest. most states you just walk in and buy one, no permit of background check required. and i have a friend in Germany who i recently talked to about gun laws. they can get semi auto but only on very special exceptions can they get full auto weapons. you can get full auto weapons fairly easily in america, just need to go thought a lot of paperwork and pay a lot

@rawimpact that would be why i said semi-automatic im my previous comment. it was a miss use of words on my part. also you are only half right. assault rifles are defined as full auto and also burst weapons that were designed specifically for military uses. for example if i had a full auto 10/22 that would be a full auto firearm but not a assault rifle. when addressing the "idiots" make sure that your facts are 100% and not only half right.

not a full strip, or at least not on the yugo m70, as after you remove the upper furniture, the lower comes off and also should be clean as much of the residue makes its way into there from the receiver.

I have a rock river AR, an Essential arms lower and Colt upper build, a WASR 10 AK and a Chink Mak 90 AK. At a hundred yards the AKs CONSISTENTLY shoot tighter groups and better placed rounds. Out past 150 yards the situation reverses.
I like the bigger rounds of the AK, and I am an older guy (54 years old) so that my eyesight wont really permit shooting longer distances accurately.
All this "AK is better" "NO AR is better" is stupid. It is just a matter of what you shoot best with

This is a great an informative vid. For those of u who dont no field stripping is for cleaning purposes. If u own a gun it is highly recomended you no how to field strip it. I fired an m4 that had a ar15 upper with bi pod. And i also fired an ak. The ar was extremely acurate but i love the kick on the ak. I found it more fun to shoot.

Sometimes the back of the cover gets bent and you just can't get it back on, especially the WASR, as it is made cheap as anything. I had to get a pair of pliers and bend mine back into shape.

The term "gas" is the high pressure gas that forms when the bullet is fired
The gunpowder blows up, making a lot of high pressured gas, this gas is what forces the bullet out at high speed.
In civil war guns, this gas was wasted and just blasted out of the barrel right behind the bullet, making a lot of recoil, or "Kickback"
The AK uses this gas to eject the empty casing, chamber the next round, and arm the hammer, using the gas tube to push a piston which moves the charging handle back

So it fires the bullet, gas follows the bullet, pushing the piston, ejects the casing, chambers the next bullet, arms the hammer, and fires again

green gas is like CO2, used in paintball or airsoft or pellet guns whatever.
real guns use gasses formed while firing a bullet.
those gasses come from the 'black powder' (its not that though.) the gas propels the bullet as well as operate the guns mechanics to load another bullet, automatically

thank you so much for this vid.
I noticed a couple things when i stripped my AK that I want my smith to have a look at. The pin that holds the piston to the bolt carrier is pushed out of one side. It's in there tight, but not symmetrical. Also, though the mating is flush, the piston is not true with the bolt carrier. It veers to the right about five degrees.
Sounds like i need to get a smith to put a roll pin into the piston/carrier mating and possibly true the piston rod

Usually no. Even if you are left handed the brass usually ejects forward, towards the front of the gun.
You will get some blow back though, and it's always best to place the ejection port side of the gun away from your body, so the brass doesn't fly in front of your field of view.

so you can clean all the parts firing the gun makes everything dirty all soldiers are told that if there is time after firing to clean their rifle and that will make it work smoothly for the next firing this process also stops premature wear of the barrel especialy and all the other parts

It's funny how in the US we are always trying to reinvent the wheel. It seems like every other week someone designs a new rifle "thats better than the M16/M4". The ak design is timeless. If it aint' broke don't fix it!
