  • The same actress who played Inara Serra also played the Queen Alien who ruled Earth on the American remake of "V".

  • not all of those heads were the presidents of earth. some of them were just awesome.

  • Inara is a head in a jar?!?!?! O.o

  • The only thing I got was that George Washington doesn't lie.

  • Ugh... first I was trying to find what Washington's head said that had anything to do with Inara.... then I enabled 420p and fullscreen...

Guys, if you got confused like me, look at the name of the head in the background.

  • *pauses at the freeze-frame, looks* As Mal would put it...

    "...Huh."

  • @electgmax You don't remember Inara Serra? I think she was in a few scenes in Firefly

  • @electgmax it's just the name under the female head in a jaw in the background

  • @Velsharoon100 woukdn't have seen it, if he had not pointed at it

  • @electgmax

There were no lines to notice... one of the character's heads was on display. :)

  • @electgmax You fucking moron, she was one of the main characters, and in every episode, she was not only Mal's main love interest, but the also the prostitute who flew around in the ship. If you haven't really watched the show then dont come on here and make a piss brain comment.

  • @electgmax

    HAHA. Jesus...

  • Awesome, I didn't notice this when I saw this ep the first time.

  • And in this same episode, we got a Doctor Who reference as well, which is even more awesome =P

  • The people who decided to cancel Firefly deserve a thorough ass-whooping.

  • Good show, fucking idiots at fox.... Started watching farscape a few days ago, already up to season 3 LOL, another great show :D

  • I like the people arguing about how in Firefly canon it's impossible for the Futurama crew to meet Inara Serra.

While they are talking to GEORGE WASHINGTON.

  • ^_^ shiny!!

  • AHHHHHHH THIS IS AWESOME

  • But earth was gone by the time Inara was alive. That's why they colonized space. Oh well, it's awesome to see references of shows in other shows.

  • @HSIRES3 Yeah, but remember how many times the Earth was destroyed and rebuilt while Fry was frozen? She could have been the "first president of re-built Earth" :)

  • @fukka007 Inara couldnt have been president of earth, she was born in the early 2490s in a Companion Palace and spent all her life there and in the Central PLANET ( not earth you see) until the Pilot Episode of Firefly, and you know that needle she takes out in one of the Firefly episodes when reevers are about to attack serenity, well Joss Whedon (creator of firefly) said that it wast for suicide and he confirmed Inara is dying from a terminal illness.

  • @newgrounds97 "Nothing is impossible. Not if you can imagine it. That's what being is a scientist is all about." -Farnsworth

  • @fukka007 no, that's what being a magical elf is all about

    -Qubert

  • @fukka007 *sigh*

  • @newgrounds97

Geez I wonder what illness that one would be?

Ohh wait, Inara was a prostitute... I bet she had AIDS. Unbelievable how AIDS will still exist in the far future.

  • @newgrounds97 dude, GW was dead for 1300 years, death means nothing to the heads

  • @bandboy11111 Im not talking about the heads me and the other guy were talking about Firefly Canon not Futurama Canon. I was saying that in FIREFLY CANON Inara would never be able to be President of Earth since earth being nonhabitable is a main plot point of firefly, and that she has a terminal illness, but in Futurama Canon anything could happen mostly because the shows peramiters are not limited most likely becuase the show is a comedy.

  • @newgrounds97 Hang on... Richard Nixon is the current president of Earth isn't he as a head in a jar, and he exists now. Why have a serious argument against Futurama if we bear that in mind?

  • @HSIRES3 Earth wasn't gone, it was just really far away. Technically, she could have gone there sometime later if the technology came up.

  • @HSIRES3 Actually, Joss' Firefly universe was created purely in the idea that the planet got over-populated. Earth wasn't destroyed in Firefly.

  • @GoldnDusty

"used up" was the phrase - I take it to mean that humans actually can't live there anymore.

  • Oh my god! That's awesome! I never noticed that! I had to do a double take!

  • @jumpmanajf The first episode is nothing special, watch some more and you will get into it.

  • @acelance011 I disagree it was good it just wasn't incredible but anything with that much of a fanbase ill give it a try espicaly only since one season. and how was the movie Serenity is it worth checking out?

  • @jumpmanajf Watch the series before seeing the movie. It'll set the movie up and then the movie will answer some questions the series never had a chance to answer.

  • @HSIRES3 yeah i figured i still havent watched it them shits are long

  • This amuses me

  • Fox canceled Futurama, Firefly, and Arrested Development. Those are just three notable ones of the many, many decent shows that Fox has canceled.

  • @chenology Decent Arrested Development is the best comedy show thats not animated ever and i keep hearing Firefly's the shit i ive only seen the first episode and it didn't blow me away

  • @jumpmanajf Everyone I know who only watched the first episode decided that they didn't really like the series. Trust me, it gets MUCH better.

  • @DealerCamel Yeah i believe u i mean obviously i just havent had a chance to watch the rest of them but I liked the style of the first episode and the dialogue was really good for tv. ill let u know what i think. how was Serenity?

  • @jumpmanajf Short answer, Serenity was very good. You might want to watch the series before watching the movie, though.

  • @DealerCamel Yeah, they foreshadowed during the show, for example, River kicking ass. You can tell that they were planning on doing things that they did in the movie, except they got cancelled =( I agree that you should definitely see the show before watching the movie.

  • @DealerCamel yeah i plan on it its just hard for me to get into dramas as oppossed to comedies cuz theyre longer

  • Awesome. Absolutely awesome! I saw the movie first (really hope they don't fuck up the sequel- you know: not getting everyone from the first movie), then bought the DVD set. I'm always waiting for the next episodes (which there aren't, god dammit). Captain Mal's line of,: "What? Me and mine are supposed to lay down and die so you can live in your better world?," is absolutely great! My personality works that way, exactly. Hoping for a renewal or a good (original cast) sequel.

  • Cool, they have had some more obvious references to Firefly as well.

  • just made me a bigger fan of futurama lol

  • I want you fukka007

  • Looks remarkably like Morena Baccarin as well. Kudos Futurama writers

  • This episode has more firefly references. Among the presidents there's also Zoe Washburne and names referencing the series' actors (they are not straight references but obvious enough) David Torres, Bob Glass and Summer Maher.

  • Freeze-frame gags. I need to find more like this.

  • O.O Holy crap!!!!!!!

  • You've got some sharp eyes. :)

  • Subtle

  • surely its a cross reference between 'Firefly' and 'V' in which Morena Baccarin played vital roles: Inara in Firefly and Anna in V - where she is near on the leader of earth

  • @TheNirvanafan1 i really doubt its a cross reference since the name is Inara Serra and not Morena Baccarin. besides its the hall of presidential heads not invading leaders

  • My two favorite shows Farscape and Firefly. I only wish Firefly could have gotten 4 seasons and a mini like its unceremoniously cancelled brother Farscape.

  • @RCTPatriot75 At least they both have movies.

  • Was earth destroyed? I thought it was just overpopulated.

  • @13BigNose Nah, it got 'used up'. Could be anything from no more land to no more resources.

  • Wasn't earth well destroyed by the time Inara was born??

  • As long as they treated her body properly when they took her head off. Cos that body is fiiiiiine. Shame about the neck.

  • Inarra 2012.

  • I have just shed tears of happiness...FOX, you are .000000001% of the way to STARTING to redeem yourself...

  • @JBRewind This episode has never aired on Fox only Comedy Central which is Futurama's home now.

  • @smitie89 Then they are 0% redeemed :P

  • @JBRewind exactly lol

  • Well that's just shiny. :)

  • Hey guys rumor has it, Firefly may be continuing on Netflix!

  • @ExuberantMonkey I think it was just an article about how they technically *could* do it...not that they're considering it. I wish, though!

  • @BrendaSpeaks Well Joss was joking around with it, and Fillion teased about it. Sorry I'm a fanboy so I get hyped, lol.

  • @ExuberantMonkey Sadly, this isn't true.

  • @DripsGaming Well Joss and Fillion were teasing about it so I got all fanboyish about it, lol.

  • Oh i forgot! INARA ftw! x)

  • Oh god! You're the man! How the hell did you spot it?? It took me a while to read this even paused :D Firefly is indeed one of the best tv shows i've ever watched in my entire life. I'm not american though but i guess all of you ppl have spoken some "chinese" to FOX about the cancelation :D Well, as Shianky says, Firefly lives on our DVD's!! I think i'm gonna watch that series now over again! xD

  • good pick up man

  • Very good!

  • Well spotted. I like anything that raise's awareness of Firefly. You never know... One day....

  • What is Firefly?

  • @Shianky the best show in the entire universe it was caneled in 2003 by fukin fox moronz but it lives in our hearts and on dvd (inara serra was a main character :)

  • @131313pie The show was uncancelled by Comedy Central and there are new seasons coming this fall! So don't feel sad. Futurama will be here for the foreseeable future! ;)

  • @DarkMagus1985 He was talking about Firefly you dimwit

  • @FloppYakaShawN He thought I was talking about Firefly. I was talking about Futarama. If anything it was miscommunication. So keep your stupid comments to yourself.

  • @131313pie Amen to that! Firefly and Futurama are two of the greatest TV shows ever created, yet, the dimwits at the studios seem to think that we ALL just want to see the real fuckin' backstabbing troglodyte moronic slut whores of Jersey, Idaho. Honestly, a score of 1250 on the SAT & a soul should be a minimum req for studio & TV execs. "oh but will it get them off their tractors."

  • @131313pie she was a whore and they didnt let it get past that.

Thank hypnotoad they let futurama run a few seasons before pulling the plug prematurely.

  • @131313pie I believe it's spelled "Fucking".

  • @131313pie show was lamer than futurama, apparrantly.

  • @Yuilen No it wasn't. It is actually quite popular, but Fox cancelled it because they weren't getting the kind of viewership they got on some of their other shows. Firefly has a huge following.

  • @HSIRES3 Children of the corn has a huge following. Doesn't mean it's good.

  • @Shianky Best show in the history of shows. It's on instant netflix if you have it

  • Nice catch!

  • That is so cool!

  • good spot !

  • shinny

  • @TheGatekeeper64 The best show in the verse not the universe!
