Wow this is actually not that good. I love the theme song from the arcade game and the C64 game, but this just sounds poor. The song is epic, this orchestra sounds lost with the song and out of rhythm.

The Original which Capcom did, was also orchestral. :) Rob Hubbard did a cover with this song.. but i prefer Robs version.

Commando,Contra,Green Beret and offcourse one and only tune -ACE 2 are the best c64 games .Many great memories of that time-80's

If C64 game music would have been the foundation of present-day game music, we would not be checking out these vids so much. Present-day game music is nothing compared to that from the C64 era. I think that is one of the reasons we aren't forgetting about them: they were better than what we have now, albeit very basic and requiring some imagination.

I do not particularly like this rendition, I must admit. Everyone's entitled to their own interpretation though and I try to keep an open mind.

Yeah! me too. When I was a Kid I've played Commando on my C64 and I've stand a long time listening to the Robert Hubbard's Commando high score music.

The complete electronic blow-out of a tune which is the Commando tune played by a c64 should never, ever be played on an instrument that isn't as cut-throat as the piercing, gutteral, shearing electronicity that is the SID chip in the c64. Period. It's like listening to 'Metal On Metal' (by Kraftwerk) played on three lutes. The music of my c64 when I was a kid has remained a big influence on me.
