I would recommend that you create an expanded version of this and sell them on DVD. There are many of us that have an interest in the DAR. Could also be a fundraiser for the museum.
I've been living in Digby since the day I was born, and never once saw any of these trains for myself. At the age of 4 my interest in trains began, and never really stopped. I've heard of these trains a lot from my Gramma and Mum, so it makes me really happy to finally see what they were talking about.
Thank you so much for putting up this video, it means so much more than you could imagine. :)
Glad you enjoyed our train footage. Perhaps, sometime in the future, we might be able to post-up more footage and we'll see what we can do regarding DAR mixed trains.
I'm writing with a very full heart and through a mist of memories and tears to say THANK YOU for this glimpse backward to my childhood in Digby, where, on my way home from school, I would have to stand and wait for the train to cross the street as it came up from the Wharf, towards Bummer's Crossing. Those train wheels are TALL when one is 5 or 6 years old! I learned, even before that age, to love everything "trains'. (My Dad was Randy Ellis...need I say more?
I'm from Digby was born in 75. I never got to see the trains. Got to hear them a lot. I love watching this footage. I'd love to see more. Could you get this and any other footage on dvd. If you could I would be willing to pay you for it. I go to Digby all the time. Let me know. Thanks so much.
i grew up in annapolis royal n.s..and as a kid i remember standing back n watching the train stop at the station especially on those winter days with the snow drifts as high as the train in places...now all that remains is the ol'train station that is now a tourist bureau and the biggest disappointment of all is they removed the old arch bridge for vehicles that went over the tracks
Outstanding video, thanks for sharing it. I will be watching and re-watching to try and absorb all the details! (train numbers, rolling stock etc..lol)
Superb and ultra rare colour footage like this is such a treasure. Tastefully edited. Would have loved to see the raw footage. From steam to Dayliners and even some great shots of them mixed together.

Great locomotives. Cool to see the Digby my Mom knew. I grew up there in the 80's and 90's.
