  • I am convicted and I need to get rid of my tv..I know it. It is interfering with my relationship wit the Lord and I need to chuck it out the window!

  • He is right. Just look at the celebrity "christians" like Miley Cyrus, and Jessica Simpson, and others that apostate youth groups like to hold up as standards of "christian" virtues. They hate the Word of God, they hate the God of the Word, but they are Christians bacause they dress, act, and talk like their "christian" heroes, and hireling pastors NEVER challenge them on it, and if one does he is rebuked for "judging".

  • "...when you look at stuff that's not real and then compare to what reality is, you can't love the way you ought to love. You can't see the way you ought to see." Very true.

  • That hit home with me...

    Good job Paul

  • I really like Paul. God bless him!!!

He is absolutely dead on. I have never heard it so actually.

It doesn't matter what channel your on, there is always something sexual. ALWAYS!!!

Not very helpful to guys trying to stay pure out there.

  • God has really blessed this man! Praise God!

  • I don't see how TV is a verse enemy than the internet. The internet has even more filth and pornography than TV, yet this is the same medium that shows Paul Washer video's.

Washer talks about joy, and being pure so "you can laugh with all your heart'. He makes a good point here. In my own life my deepest laughter and my only joy has happened when I've been right with God or as a young child. Yet Washer (judging by his videos) displays more solemness and dreariness than joy or laughter.

  • @theplanetariumscene If I were to judge you by your comment here, it seems you know nothing of burden and anguish. Do you laugh with the watered down gospel that is preached or the billions headed to hell? But it would be foolish for me to judge you by a comment you made on a youtube video, and it is foolish to judge a man from clips you've heard/seen on youtube.

  • @artemioMALAKAS

I think you missed my point. The fact is joy is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit, a fruit that he doesn't display very well. And I'm not basing this one just one video or comment of his. I have watched different video's of him (including the hour length shocking sermon) and the solemn thing is clearly what he emphasizes. He even asked in another sermon "What's wrong with being solemn?" Well, there is nothing wrong with solemness itself....continued..

  • @artemioMALAKAS

    Continued...

Well, there is nothing wrong with solemness itself, but when your in a constant ongoing state of solemness and exhibit little joy in your Christian life (constantly looking like your sucking lemons) than this is a sign that something is wrong.

I appreciate some aspects of his teaching. His preaching that you can't be genuinely saved without repentance is true. Pointing out worldliness and compromise in the church is a good thing. Unfortunately ...cont..again

  • @artemioMALAKAS

    Cont again...

Unfortunately some of his other theology is not so good (heavily influenced by the bad Calvinistic teaching, the rotten TULIP). Possibly the worst of his teaching is his denial of the love of God toward sinners, that God only has hatred toward sinners. He teaches the cross as God's hate toward sinners instead of God's love toward sinners (John 3:16). This deficient understand of God and the cross could perhaps be the root problem of his lack of joy.

  • @theplanetariumscene You should see him when he's not preaching. Or talks about his family. Don't judge a man by his preaching - Look at his life.

  • my tip to all is not to be so defending when your attacked about your life style...let your guard down and examine what your being told and see if its true.

  • I remember meeting Paul Washer in a small town in Missouri once and his entire sermon seemed to focus on WORKS WORKS WORKS WORKS rather than the GOSPEL OF GRACE. TV is NOT the greatest enemy to men today as Paul Washer states. The greatest enemy to men today are those that stand in pulpits.

Listen to Paul Washer - all you hear is WORKS WORKS WORK! UGH.

  • @darthgill

My friend, my brother, I believe that you have misunderstood brother Washer's preaching.

  • @darthgill For Paul Washer salvation is a result of actions, there is no grace. Everyone is going to hell for Paul Washer, he also criticize christian musicians accusing them to be friends with the world, and tons of useless accusations you can hear everyday against christian singers and christian ministers. This guy believes breathing is a sin, you see a girl on the street you sinned, you have facebook you sinned, you was on a date you sinned, i think i'm going to hell, lol!

  • May we redeem the time.

  • TV is an altar of the DEVIL and now parents sacrifice their chidren in that altar and they lose them forever.....

  • I haven't turned on the TV in six months!

Got so sick of the corporate prostitutes to the point that if i see products advertised anywhere, i purposely DON'T buy their them. But what most don't understand is that their "programs" are the real advertisements, not the 2 minute commercials in between....

  • Throw the TV away it wont hurt. This is such a modern concept that is not taken seriously. We do not have Cable and not intending to change. Jesus is worth it.

  • Soooo much TRUTH!!! I don't even enjoy TV like I used to. All the Drama, vanity, masquerading and deception. Even the Christian networks have become vain babblings and entertainment. Lord Deliver us, your people.

  • Once you get rid of the television, you will see the difference it makes in your life and in your walk with the Lord.

  • Your right I was soo into football, basketball, I was a fanatic then I meet Christ and I just dropped it I do see it occasionally but its not my life or not something that I crave in my life, when I tell my family members how I feel about the issue they think I'm crazy but I don't care because I realize its helped me spiritually and physically in my life.........................

  • @xena1973 keep fueling the fire with the pure words in scripture, and devoting them to your life. Scripture will die within you if not acted out. There is a window of opportunity there, and if ignored, it will fade into nothingness.

  • amen

  • Bro. Paul is absolutely right about Harry Potter, I had not thought about that before. In that way though, the same thing could be said about most TV.

  • God has surely done a work in Brother Paul.

  • I love Paul Washer he is such a great man for God and also a loving person.

  • Yes! I fully agree with the part on Harry Potter. It is a huge rebuke. The characters were in their reality every second of their lives. And they did it so fully. When I look at the authors of the reformation I can see the same - their love and sacrificial lives.

But nowadays? What happened to Christians?

  • Excellent question, "What happened to Christians?"
