there is a world wide push to introduce these meters. they are able to turn them on and off at will. Nice. You pay for panels on your roof which feeds the grid first, THEN you, (no control) and they can turn you off automatically. Another form of control by our big brothers. You will be tracked, chipped,, and recorded. Nice future

If you live within 100ft of any street, then you breath in more carcinogens per second, than this meter broadcasts in its lifetime. If you are one of the few people in this province that do not live near any road, or have any wireless devices, then you can have your meter moved far from your house which many are anyways in remote areas.

@engrconway Wireless Smart Meters have been proven to increase your electrical bills costing consumers more, not less. Not to mention they output 100x more EMF radiation than a cell phone. In Canada, so long as a cell phone does not cook the flesh they are perfectly legal. In the Freiburger Appeal 3,000+ doctors agree that EMF/microwave radiation presents significant health risks. We must take responsibility for our education and our health.

Corix installs but does not make the meters, esteemed Councillor. Itron makes them. Europe has already replaced the wireless devices in many countries and opted for fibre optic.
