I havent bought Dragon Rising (yet), but I've been a player and modder of the original Flashpoint game since 2001. The first thing I noticed while watching this clip is that 'rag doll' effect still isn't being used. This is a total turn-off for me. What's the point of amazing graphics and realistic landscapes when killing enemies might as well be just shooting at moving cardboard cut outs.

Dragon Rising isnt anything like original OFP, it is just using the name because codemaster have the rights to do so... Armed Assault and ArmA 2 are the true successors of original OFP.

Wrong Johnny. It's the exact same team who brought us OFP that brings us Dragon Rising. Except that the complete game engine has had a total overhaul.

@angels77100 Dude - I hat to say it but Dragon Rising hugely disappointed me. They took an awesome simulation game and raped it for consoles. The biggest things they took away for me: no advanced ordering system (ie you cant tell each guy to target and then simultaneously fire) and helicopters aren't scary anymore.

BUT the hugest thing in DR? You can't drive through trees in a tank (unless it was patched).

@AusQuitzau I sympathize with that. I actually miss Flashpoint. It was a great way to kill time. I still havent bought Dragon Rising so I can't comment upon what it has to offer. But having said that, from the various clips and comments from people like you who have got it already, it seems I was correct in avoiding it. If I were to buy this game now, I'd probably be up to my neck creating modifications in order to improve and create the same atmosphere that FP offered us.

It seems like you just gave PLA soldiers a knife and respawn point. I was able to do sort of my own zombie thing by giving the PLA no ammo or firearms, but I can't figure out how to make spawn points for them.
