For us Private Pilots, Halfpenny Green is perfectly satisfactory. :o)

Yeah, Halfpenny Green is sound if you're a tyro PPL. No crosswind worries, friendly people, a fair few airfields to visit within half an hour of it and lots of uncontrolled airspace to the South and West. Ideal for newbies.
