I got the Cintiq 12WX, I never liked regular tablets, I could paint on them but I could not ever draw with them or make good corrections. It cost 1 arm and 1 leg but it was worth it.

Oh, come on. xD Drawing with a mouse isn't that hard. The only thing that really irks me about it is that I don't have pressure sensitivity or the other flashy crap that tablets do.

Personally, I can't sketch in photoshop so I sketch on my notebook then scan it to my computer.

It takes time to get things just right.

Also for people who say that they're 'unable' to sketch then here's a little tip. Sometimes (or most of the times for me) the beginning of the sketch won't look good at all but just take the patience to finish it. At the beginning of a sketch don't drive too hard on tiny details (you can see that his initial model was general/plain). Also slight mistakes aren't so bad b/c it makes your sketch unique in a sense that it's slightly different from what you're trying to sketch.

A person who like sports asked me how I could sketch/paint the way I do and I told her that it's just a bunch of lines mingled together. I told her that even she could do it but she said that she wouldn't be able to; it's the same as asking how to go about a sports maneuver and them simply explaining exactly how it's done. Just have to practice. Also great opinion about making something 'the same', just make a photocopy for that.

4:21 my reply to that question is i spent 2 years of my life in the jails of the murderous rat people with only a stockpile of pencils and notebooks for comfort, thats how i refined my skill. it kills the conversation dead in its tracks.

this is awesome! What impressed me is your skills in photoshop. I can draw decent pencil sketches, and love drawings manga characters. Ended up going into Architectural Design, so it has some drawing aspects even if its CAD work or detail sketches. Niiice. I have a pretty old/crappy UC-Logic tablet. I've been wanting the Wacom Bamboo so bad lately. Although a lot of what I do is random abstract drawings which don't look as concrete as your stuff, lol. Always end up going overboard with textures on layers upon layers and no-one knows what it's supposed to be. But it's fun.
