@JaccaKnoff I understand your point. Please try to see it from a security standpoint. It is Black Friday. A man places merchandise in his shirt or pants. It is not feasible to wait for him to attempt to exit the store with the goods due to the overwhelming amount of people that need to be watched. When he is confronted, he resists and attempts to leave the store. I can only see that the fault is the grandfathers since he failed to cooperate with police during his arrest.

@JaccaKnoff With regard to shoplifting, store security has the right to arrest anyone on suspicion of shoplifting regardless of whether they have left the store with merchandise or not. (It is enough to conceal the merchandise.) Innocence or guilt is decided by the judge. In this particular case, I believe that the grandfather would be found innocent. He wasn't slammed on the floor for shoplifting. He was slammed on the floor for resisting arrest.

@MrTurbochargd Not true in many cases. I did loss prevention and most companies say that the person has to leave the store. untill then they have commited no crime. Same with going to the store, eating a candy bar while shopping, as long as you pay for it, your fine. I do this sometimes.

This guy was brutally slammed to the ground because he put a video game in his pants for a moment to help get himself and his grandson out of the huge crowd. Now he is damaged for life and his grandson is traumatized. These are the type of pigs i would love to meet on the street... teach them a lesson..
