The first Doink was Matt Osborne (fired for drug probs). The second was Steve Keirn who was the "illusion" Doink at Wrestlemania IX. He was temporarilly replaced by Steve Lombardi, Dusty Wolfe, then John Maloof. Then finally Ray Apollo was brought in as the permanent Doink w/ Dink.

Hardy was at the time their biggest draw, but they sent him home because of his problems. Andrew "Test" Martin, was released by the WWF/E because of his drug use and that was ultimately a factor in his death.

I didn't see Bobby Lashley get released for being a gashead. nor did I see Kurt Angle getting released for being a chronic pill popper, nor did I see Brock Lesnar get released for the ridiculous amounts of steroids he was on. Why haven't they fired Rey Mysteroid for being on steroids? And everyone they've ever suspended has been with pay.

@KingFrank86 Actually no, Mysterio was suspended for a dietary supplement that he was taking, thats why he was taken off for the three months and dropped the IC belt to Morrison. Angle's contract was up and he was sent home to recover from injuries with the WWE's intent on resigning him, but he jumped to TNA when he was given a clean bill of health by their doctors. Lashley wasn't fired he just didn't resign with them when his contract was up, the same for Lesner.

After watching a lot of Doink matches I realize the importance of having a good wrestler vs. a Jobber. See, when Doink faces a jobber and dominates him and shows off his skills he actaully seems like a great wrestler. Now when he's against Bret Hart I was thinking that Doink would dominate him but then I realized that Bret Hart is actually a good wrestler himself, so therefore the match has a lot more suspense. That simple match booking is completely lost in this day in age of pro wrestling.

Pat Patterson wanted Bruce pushed. He didn't think Owen was big enough or could be believable enough or something. This is why the WWF was going downhill around this time, because of childish gimmicks like clowns, job-gimmicks, etc. It took them a few years to get back on top.

IMO, Things didn't really turn to shit until about 1995 (The SINGLE worst year of the 90s for the WWF) when Shawn was the only guy SAVING the product.

Doink was one of the better characters of that era until he turned face.
