  • Do you have to have windows media profile editor, and process lasso. also does media profile editor change your frame rate of the gameplay and audio so that it doesn't lag? Please reply!

  • The default WMV profiles were very low quality. I used the WMPE to make better ones. Process Lasso is just an advanced version of the Windows ctrl-alt-del menu and is unrelated. Frame rate of the gameplay? Lag? You could be referring to one of many different things.

  • thats Burnout Paradise niice mann

  • Whenever I try to save the profile i get the 0x80070005 error

  • Oh noes!

    Not the... 0x80070005 ERROR!

  • @Arm4g3dd0nX Sorry about that. It slipped my mind you wouldn't have a clue what this error is. Anyway, I found a way to get around it and now I'm on my way to record and upload some LP footage. Expect me asking you to do a LPer review of my channel in a month or so. :)

  • @Arm4g3dd0nX what do u do about it?

  • I'm not at liberty to say. But I can tell you it involves a car starter motor, a car fan belt, a digital compass, two liters of carbonated water, an AC/DC adapter, a 50017460-001 transformer module, about 40 foot of 14 gauge wire, and a hamster, preferably hairless. O_o

P.S.: No, a gerbil will not suffice.

  • @Arm4g3dd0nX to fix the erorr?

  • Yes. O_o

  • and could you do a tutorial on it?

  • I think we've talked since this comment. This tutorial is still how to do it. It's called Windows Media Encoder or something now.

  • they dont have win media prof editor anymore arm. what would we use instead?

  • When I try to upload videos created by this method, it comes up with an unknown error. Is there any way to fix this?

  • You need more dingos on treadmills to power your internet service providers.

  • k what kbps do i have to set for a good hq video like 1000 or something.. its seems pretty low

  • I set mine to 5.9 mbps.

  • please tell me how to fix letterbox

  • @Silverblade12345 Which kind are you getting?

  • like the resolution 640 by 480

  • and really sorry for wasting your time

  • k i think i somehow figured out the problem... the resolution for the game i was recording was differint and for some reason nothing could fix it.... wow

  • @Arm4g3dd0nX FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK I NEED TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO WHEN YOUR DONE MAKING YOUR PROFILE YOU SKIPED THE PART ON WHERE TO SAVE YOUR PROFILE WHEN UR DONE I DID IT ONCE BUT I CANT FIGURE OUT HOW TO ANYMORE I've BEEN TRYING FOR 2 HOURS

  • Oh, sorry. If you are using Camtasia Studio, place the profile file(s) into the "Windows Media Profiles" directory under the Camtasio Studio installation directory. If no such directory exists, make one.

  • Camtasia enjoys to crash a LOT

  • WMV is a good file type. I wouldn't recommend changing from it. Perhaps you should just render at something a bit lower in bitrate.

  • Thanks alot, i recently uploaded some HD - this helped me save alot of time, thx ;)

  • Lol, I don't even remember why I said it that way. ^_^

  • who you do Widescreen in the videos because windows make the screen smal and then youtube maket even smaller

  • Well during recording you have to have the game at 1280x720 resolution (windowed or current resolution). Then make a Windows Media Encoder Profile at 1280x720.

  • wher you download windows Media Profile Editor

  • Iono, I just did a Google search.

  • Say, question, for Camstasia, for HD Widescreen, how do you obtain it on WMV, I've seen methods mostly on on MOV format, but I cannot find a method for WMV to get widescreen on it, I can only just get the regular visual

  • I'm pretty sure I explain all that at 0:40 and on. O_o

  • hm, must of missed it =P

  • It's a lot more simpler and easier to just use Windows Movie Maker and Fraps to do all this. Most other users won't need all the extra features of these programs. All they really need to do is be able to cut and edit videos and record video and sound. Both movie maker and fraps do this well enough.

  • You know what, if you're gonna be a b*** like that, then I have a 13 inch foot that needs a home in YOUR REAR END!

  • Er... I was just stating that not everyone needs the amount of programs that you use to do LPs or make videos for themselves.

You may need them or like to use them, but its easier for most others to use Movie Maker. I don't know how you can possibly disagree with that.

I'm not trying to be a b***. Sorry if I offended you so easily.

  • What are the sort of file sizes for a 10 minute chunk of video, and how long does it take you to upload them?

  • Pre-rendering: 15 gigs, post rendering: 400 megs. Upload takes about 25-35 minutes.

  • So you've got pretty fast internets

  • 18 megabit.

  • great 400 megs for me takes 3 hours..

    :humph:

    -_-

  • Wow thx alot! But does this work on windows XP?

  • Iono, try.

  • wait... if ur teaching us how to make a vid like u do, how did u make this video???????

  • u sound like kumar from harold and kumar

  • Too bad you can't read what I messaged you, it's important. :P

  • You can go as low as 1500-2000kbps to get HD. The source video will be the biggest factor in being able to get HD, as there has to be enough video data in the stream to begin with.

People recording with screen recorders will most often have this issue.

I found that having a bitrate too high will result in video files that are bigger than they need to be.

I dont suppose it matters if you dont save your rendered product.

  • I store all of my rendered product. One directory of backed up footage, 260 gigs.

  • how large are your 10-min vids for games like fallout 3? Each codec is different, and I have personally had issues with WMV not only being slow, but not the most space efficient...

  • Actually I've found WMV to be rather fast in rendering. That's why I use it. If I set it up correctly I can render 10 minutes in 8-9 minutes. Usually I'm doing it overnight though so I don't care. And for Fallout 3... between 240 and 440 megs per 10 minutes.

  • damn you have a lot of process open !

especially on your windows bar at the bottom lol , 3 row filled up ?!?!?

i only use one , never thought of using anymore than one , in fact i never understood why i would need more row than one lol !!

  • And people say my computer sucks because I have frames issues from time to time. O_o

  • i didnt say your computer suck , it was your framet rate that was going to 1-5 fps from time to time when you were doing LP's of X-blade.

which was cause of too many app and process in the background...

  • Actually it was Firefox the majority of the time.

  • cant u change priority of your processes with task manager?

  • Yes, you can.

  • It changes the priority of processes on the fly if something ends up reducing responsiveness.

  • 3th-5th?
