I see, but GW runs nicely in Wine on linux, so running it in virtualbox or the like with wine under linux should be fine. The registry file alteration definately sounds like the easier option though :)

wine under linux is still running on the operating system. in a virtual machine, the hardware is emulated on the processor. now, with later advances in hardware it is possible for some hardware to be able to emulate itself successfully, however this has not yet reached GPU's. hence, you'll be stuck with software rendering = no directx.

virtualbox uses openGL and the host machines hardware, so in theory I don't think that's a problem, but i'm not 100% sure on that. I'll test it sometime.

It's true that you need 2 different accounts for that, but you also need a program to run GW 2 times. Which you can actually find on google, it's shareware, just a bit hard to find.

for 9 rings where you do nothing 4 or maybe 5 accounts could run on one laptop/pc - 16GB harddisk should not be a problem!

256MB for Windows and 256-512MB RAM and 500MHz / account should be enough... even a two year old laptop could manage 3 progs...

5 laptops: 400W

diff: 23KW/h per event or weekend
