haha the one thing I actually like about this show is that its mainly tricks no one cares about, and two they're sometimes (most of the time actually) not the method they say it is. These tricks are mainly stage acts that are a dime a dozen. If it were close up magic, then that would hit home. And I would do something about it.

I get the feeling most of the big tricks, not any that involve gimmicks, were created so they could be exposed. I know when Penn and Teller expose tricks, they create them especially for that purpose. So when they're revealing magic's biggest secrets they're not tarnishing anyone elses illusion. or something.

There are charlatans in every art form and naive people are a dime a dozen. Magic is an art, and as such is subject to a person's personal interpretation. Some people just have a better interpretation than others. It is wrong to generalize with an art form like magic. Especially when there are So many great magicians out there, and many legends. Please no not put the masked magician in our ranks. It is unnecessary wrongful exposure. I have been in magic 25 years and I respect magic.

"Should have the right" represents a state where a person chooses by the persons own will and interests, the person has the right to know. "Should know" as a single statement sounds a bit too forced. "Exposure to those not intrested is wrongful exposure" Its not wrongful, because those not interested are really not interested at all.They really dont care of exposures.

Whether someone picks up a book or watches these episodes, they are expressing a desire, (through different means) to push on the doors and to learn. If they/we weren't interested, we wouldn't be here watching this. Agreed on having the right to knowledge. Those not giving a hoot won't take the time to even see or watch these things, so your belief stays in tact, and we "pushers" just opt for different modes.

@Lyingaboutmyage I think the reasons you gave are noble, but like I said: There are better places to learn Illusions. Places which will give you the real work. Although I have to say as a person who has studied magic all my life: Your thinking of applying illusions to life is actually slightly off. Magicians use psychology in magic, and some things can be applied, but your looking in the wrong place for the real work. My advice: Read the Tarbell Course in Magic. It will do you better.

@MrCouchpotato93 I completely disagree for two main reasons: First because effects from over 100 years ago, are still in use by magicians and are still entertaining audiences. I bet if you saw an effect that was invented over 100 years ago, if it was performed well, you might think it was a brand new effect. But that doesn't mean magicians aren't creating new effects. Magic dealer shelves are filled with new products. and if you think old tricks are boring: Take a look at Latimers cups and balls

The reason is two fold: #1 Many magicians actually make their living making "New" tricks for people. #2 In my professional act I perform several magic and mentalism effects which first appear in books as old at 1945, and yet, because of my presentation of the effects, no one is the audience has any idea that the effects aren't modern.
