why is it when i type offset and then i specified the offset distance it said that i should requires numeric distance,two points or option keyword..i cant type 4'' only to the thickness of the wall.. wat should i do?

@gil12345ish Change your units to architectural. I suggest you may want to watch some of the other Basic AutoCAD videos, too. The answer lies there. :-)
for the people that get a huge thickness for the wall. you have to chose decimal and milimeters... not inches. ofc this is for 2012 im not sure about the other ones
@baranbro69 Sounds like you're running the metric profile. Hence the metric tools for you. You may have two icons on your desktop. You're probably using the wrong one if you want imperial units.

Change the length type from "decimal" to "architectural." Architectural means feet and inches.
