I never paid much attention when it came out-Yes I was conscious in the '60s and THEN THEY HIT ME at a Bickfords restaurant-the song was trying to shine through their crappy sound system and I recognized it for what TRUE BRILLIANCE it was-the voices, the production - and the love that was put into this recording. I'm so lucky to finally have this greatest hits CD! Fantastic - the Harp and all the rest - COULDN"T BE BETTER! except in SURROUND! FEEL GOOD everyone-THIS WILL GET YOU THERE.
@MikeMikey2012 Wait wait wait did someone just blame the Red Sox losing a baseball game to a band? See this sort of crap is why nobody likes Red Sox fans except for the Red Sox, First they blame Babe Ruth for their "Curse" now a damn band?!!
Here's an idea maybe the team just isn't that good? Maybe fans shouldn't put things on pedestals until they have things to praise, this sort of crap is why people who like sports hate sports fans.
This reminds me of a time my friend Harry and I were driving across the country in our sheep dog van to go to Aspen to drop off a briefcase for a girl I fell in love with.
Brings me back to such a wonderful time in my life - I was really little, life was so sweet and easy. Amazing how music can bring us back so totally to a feeling from before!! Thank you for sharing it here!! <3
rappingfoinspiration; U may have noticed the change from @jojo124580 to alvill48. I am new to a computer. I am learning though. I thought I was still signed in. Sorry. I remember when we flew I could'nt handle all the noise from the guns and mortors n guys screaming. I stayed on 1 channel n took commands from the pilot. I shut the guys out except 4 the person requesting assistance. When I fired my gun I was positively sure where everyone was at. No friendly fire casualties from this ole boy.
rappingfoinspiration; Your grandpa may have hauled fuel for us. Without supplies, no flying, no ammo, food etc. He had a very important job. In Dong Tam where I was at there was a place on highway 1 called," ambush alley". They were always trying to get our troops hauling supplies and convoys. I was mostly in the air , except when we delivered ammo, food or picked dead and wounded. Platoon I have watched 6 or 8 times. Alot of things happened that were never mentioned. Very realistic movie.
this reminds me of my grandparents house, whenever i use to wake up when i was little id go out into the kitchen and songs just like this would be playing while my grandpa cooked breakfast. it makes me think "fuck yeah! thanks for introdcuing me to good music at an early age" and breakfast of course
My husband made a chance remark to me yesterday, "Flowers in your hair", which isn't like me at all. . . . and this song is on my mind. . . and it makes me smile and think of a lighter, happier way of living!

cowsills were excellent at bb kings nyc. going to see them again labor day weekend Sunday Sept 4, 2011 at The Cannery Casino Las Vegas NV. The Tokens are also playing and its a free concert.
Such a wonderful song. Captures the 60's like no other. Sweet sweet song, with a little sad twist at the end. Wow, what simplistic genuis in 3 minutes.
The love of my young life, Kathy, and I had tickets to see the Cowsills at Melodyland (an "in the round" venue) located in Anaheim, California. This was for January 1969. Sadly, they cancelled their appearance and I was drafted into the Army on 05 February 1969 and ended up serving a tour of duty in The Nam and loosing Kathy in the process. Sometimes, when you least expect it, life will turn around and hit you very hard.
That is so sad. Sorry for your loss. There's a new documentary out, "Family Band." It's going to be playing at the Paley center for media in Beverly Hills on July 21. Members of the band are going to be there, but I don't know if that will include any of the Cowsills. Great music from an era gone bye.
Well, NOW I know the title of a song which I have enjoyed ever since I was a boy (but I WON'T tell you how many years ago that was). Thank you VERY much for sharing this with us!!!!!
@calligal55 Yep, I was only 3 but have an older brother of 5 years. He had this album along with the early Beatles ect. ect. Then it was Zepplin ect. ect. My brother started me on the great tunes at a young age.
You know a song like this will hit you in a way you'd never expected when you're bald and have a soul patch and you get goosebumps every time you hear it.
This song is simply a beautiful work of harmony lost in today's music. We were so fortunate to have been in High School in 1967. Today's Top 40 is so ugly in comparison; crude and degrading to all of mankind. Hats off to the family Cowsills and all the men who wrote such music for decades. We miss you all.
I bought this record in 1967 (Polydor MVG503) having first heard it on the Light Programme Midday Spin before Radio 1 started. I'm sure it would have got into the charts but for a distributors dispute. It's still one of my favourites. ( Still got the 45 but no record player)
I love this song; even though I am allergic to flowers it makes me want to be like in the cartoons were the characters are spinning and flowers everywhere haha something like that

60otaku3, you're not worried that WMG and Youtube may delete these songs and your account? They've already deleted Ncichit's videos. I've already bought alot of their cds but I go on Youtube to try to check out new groups from the past I've never heard of but THEY KEEP DELETING THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!
@60otaku3 Ha ha ha...wow, you have good manners, 60otaku3 : ) Well, letr me know what new username you have so that I can subscribe to you continously. Domo arigato, 60otaku3-san : )
being a modern rocker type, this type of music makes me have an appreciation for awesome vocal harmonies that you rarely hear in the new music of today. This a simple but very cool song.
this song makes me fell happy and sad in the same time, why the guy meet the girl and then she go away? i can't understand ç_ç (sorry for my bad english....°A°)
What a great picture. I'm guessing that's the top of Susan's head at the bottom in the middle. Susan Cowsill was one of the cutest kids ever. Is that mom in the window?
Because perhaps it seems that Suzan joined the group just after this, she is not taken in this picture, but Mini-Mom (Barbara) is smiling from a window with other children.

I suspect the flower girl was neither reality nor a dream. Just part of a trip. But dig that chick, whatever! ;-)

Thank you for the comment, Khultan-san!!
Of course I worry about it.
But even if my account is thereby suspended, I have no objection to YouTube deleting lots of videos.

I just love the look of that album art. What a splendid cool tune.

being a modern rocker type, this type of music makes me have an appreciation for awesome vocal harmonies that you rarely hear in the new music of today. This a simple but very cool song.

「The Rain, the Park and Other Things」
