I never paid much attention when it came out-Yes I was conscious in the '60s and THEN THEY HIT ME at a Bickfords restaurant-the song was trying to shine through their crappy sound system and I recognized it for what TRUE BRILLIANCE it was-the voices, the production - and the love that was put into this recording. I'm so lucky to finally have this greatest hits CD! Fantastic - the Harp and all the rest - COULDN"T BE BETTER! except in SURROUND! FEEL GOOD everyone-THIS WILL GET YOU THERE.

I remember when we flew I could'nt handle all the noise from the guns and mortors n guys screaming. I stayed on 1 channel n took commands from the pilot. I shut the guys out except 4 the person requesting assistance. When I fired my gun I was positively sure where everyone was at. No friendly fire casualties from this ole boy.

rappingfoinspiration; Your grandpa may have hauled fuel for us. Without supplies, no flying, no ammo, food etc. He had a very important job. In Dong Tam where I was at there was a place on highway 1 called," ambush alley". They were always trying to get our troops hauling supplies and convoys. I was mostly in the air , except when we delivered ammo, food or picked dead and wounded. Platoon I have watched 6 or 8 times. Alot of things happened that were never mentioned. Very realistic movie.

There we flew hunter-killer at night and went by the call sign, "merkin 256". We worked area south of Saigon. We were the last of the,"Jayhawks", from Dong Tam. I was there, 1968-1969. The love of my young life, Kathy, and I had tickets to see the Cowsills at Melodyland (an "in the round" venue) located in Anaheim, California. This was for January 1969. Sadly, they cancelled their appearance and I was drafted into the Army on 05 February 1969 and ended up serving a tour of duty in The Nam and loosing Kathy in the process. Sometimes, when you least expect it, life will turn around and hit you very hard.

That is so sad. Sorry for your loss. There's a new documentary out, "Family Band." It's going to be playing at the Paley center for media in Beverly Hills on July 21. Members of the band are going to be there, but I don't know if that will include any of the Cowsills. Great music from an era gone bye.

This song is simply a beautiful work of harmony lost in today's music. We were so fortunate to have been in High School in 1967. Today's Top 40 is so ugly in comparison; crude and degrading to all of mankind. Hats off to the family Cowsills and all the men who wrote such music for decades. We miss you all.

その腕前はともかくとして、コーラスワークに関しては他の曲でも­素晴らしいものがありました。

こういうファミリーバンドはまだ家族の絆が尊ばれていた時代だっ­たからこそウケたのだと今にして思います。
