wtf dodging missiles is easy as fuck i use fire extinguisher because to be honest all you have to do to dodge a missile is know what direction its coming from and when it fires you head right towards it and it misses 90% of the time. i dodged 8 missiles in a row once just one after another its not that hard...
HUGE TIP FOR ACE COMBAT PLAYERS. Switch your controls to SOUTHPAW for the jet controls. Even if you dont like flying a jet, try switching to southpaw. Hope this helped, it sure as hell helped me.

Get up to a high altitude then fly back to the ground. just 180 degree - which does you will face the missile. in most cases you will avoid the missiles.
Love BF3 for the realism. The air combat is also somewhat real so it helps to know something about real air combat maneuvers. Some of the best players I've seen look like they understand Immelmann's (strafe ground targets like this), split S's, turn ins, scissors etc. Maybe its only possible on consoles but I get out of locks all the time performing fast alternating turns which I thought was called a sidewinder. Also confuses a pursuing plane pretty well.
"Get out of yor jet immediately as soon as your jet is disabled"... Why? Use that to your advantage. What about extinguishers? Why not try to at least get behind enemy lines before you bail out?
@RooRealm Exchtinguishers suck man... All the enemy has to do is lock on to you(like he does with flares) And shot 2 missles at you and you are destroyed imidietly. With flares you can suvive those two missles with 100% hp. And if they shot 1 rocket at a time its the same thing, either you get disabled and you exhtinguish out forcing yourself to wait for regen while with flares you can flare that rocket and gtfo asap no problem 100% hp. I have tried both,and exhtinguishers are worse than flares!
Another tip, when in a dog fight, do back flips. They turn you around much faster when you do it right. When you start going up, don't accelerate or brake just coast as you go up for the flip. When coming down you brake. This has set me up for so many jet kills its ridiculous
well the flaires dont really help that much anymore..cos if the AA-vehicles have heat seekers..they well definitly take you down, cos flaires take too long to cooldown or reload

About the evading thingy... I don't know if it's already mentioned, or wasn't possible back then, but you can actually dodge every missile/rocket if you are skilled.
@trollincodfags Well If you are playing rush spot the people and give a small burst and they are dead. On conquest you need rocket pods. Why? Attack jets (rush) have explosive minigun bullets and combat jets (conquest) don't
The evading tactics is all wrong, for helicopters you can drive at the helicopter and dive really quick and come back, rocket dodged and it wont hit you, for jets unless theyre follwing directly behind you, you should be able to dodge and aa is just stupid so fuck that
you guys have the sensitivity almost at the max but when I put it at that its WAYYYY too fast to move that it wobbles and its too hard to control. is it cause youre in beta
@JamesonLB Make sure you very slowly (like once a day) move up your sensitivity. Your brain doesn't really accustom to it until you've slept. That's when your brain remembers everything, so if you change multiple times a day, it won't help.
it's possible to dodge rockets even if they lock on, rockets aren't perfect you can employ some fancy piloting to dodge them, and also sometimes flying close to the ground is a great way to lose a lock, these guys aren't pros.

@applepie107 unlocks u get by earning points to that veichle, and how are u supposed to earn machine gun for jet?then jet would have 0,1% to lvl up....but R1 is for flares or later stuff...and u can use gun as u want.....and its L1 to fire...hope it helps (talking about PS3)
Thats a great video, there are a LOT of good ideas in it. I'm hard core into vehicles and when I saw there where jets in the new battlefield I had to get it. I'm still upgrading my plane after I get more upgrades I think it will be more fun.
Real flyers play HC ^~. Great video though! Especially considering it was beta. I encourage hardcore play. Requires lots more teamwork and more challenging gameplay.
Its so easy for ppl to find out how to pilot jets n helis on utube but always ders sum1 who doesnt kno how to fly and jumps in the pilot seat of a venom n team kills every1 within 5secs by goin head on to a lamp post -_-

The only flaw I find with the jets isn;t really a problem with the jets at all. The purpose of Conquest is to cap bases to deplete the enemies ticket count. So what does flying around in jets really accomplish? Nothing really unless you are flying low blowing up armoured vehicles or trying to kill infantry which will be hard and VERY risky. I wish they had more purpose then just fun. Or at least have them drop bombs like in BF1943 but that wouldn't happen in a modern war.
You can actually dodge the missiles (not laser designated though) by doing a quick 180 turn to either side (not up or down because those are usually slower) after the missile has been travelling for a few seconds (depending on your distance from the shooter ofc)

What? You can't dodge missiles in BF3? IRL, it's possible to dodge missiles, but you have to be lucky to do it without countermeasures. I plan to get this game, but jets are going to annoy me since I'm a sim pilot.
Mongol i currently use a joystick which i have got very use too.. I do pretty well but i do come against some other pilots that no matter what i do they are behind me the entire time.. i do the slow down into a turn speed up out of the turn and they still behind me its like they are in a a tail spin with enough speed to shoot at me.. My question is what are they doing to stay on my ass ?

Thats a great video, there are a LOT of good ideas in it. I'm hard core into vehicles and when I saw there where jets in the new battlefield I had to get it. I'm still upgrading my plane after I get more upgrades I think it will be more fun.

Real flyers play HC ^~. Great video though! Especially considering it was beta. I encourage hardcore play. Requires lots more teamwork and more challenging gameplay.

Its so easy for ppl to find out how to pilot jets n helis on utube but always ders sum1 who doesnt kno how to fly and jumps in the pilot seat of a venom n team kills every1 within 5secs by goin head on to a lamp post -_-
Like seriously if u dont kno how to pilot just be a gunner or go into a empty server n practice flyin there. At least u aint guna piss off any1 there

Slow down when ever you wanna make a turn then after use your afterburner to speed up, gr8 way to escape from planes

The only flaw I find with the jets isn;t really a problem with the jets at all. The purpose of Conquest is to cap bases to deplete the enemies ticket count. So what does flying around in jets really accomplish? Nothing really unless you are flying low blowing up armoured vehicles or trying to kill infantry which will be hard and VERY risky. I wish they had more purpose then just fun. Or at least have them drop bombs like in BF1943 but that wouldn't happen in a modern war.

You can actually dodge the missiles (not laser designated though) by doing a quick 180 turn to either side (not up or down because those are usually slower) after the missile has been travelling for a few seconds (depending on your distance from the shooter ofc)

you can dodge missiles.when you get locked on and 3 secs when its fired make a quick left turn or right turn your choice.and you'll successfully dodge the missile.

What? You can't dodge missiles in BF3? IRL, it's possible to dodge missiles, but you have to be lucky to do it without countermeasures. I plan to get this game, but jets are going to annoy me since I'm a sim pilot.

Mongol i currently use a joystick which i have got very use too.. I do pretty well but i do come against some other pilots that no matter what i do they are behind me the entire time.. i do the slow down into a turn speed up out of the turn and they still behind me its like they are in a a tail spin with enough speed to shoot at me.. My question is what are they doing to stay on my ass ?
