Coming from a red sox fan, I have a lot of respect for Joe Torre. He was always a manager that knew how to deal with every situation and he was always knew how to keep his mouth shut. I'm disappointed.

Well based on the way how Girardi's managing the team goes to show how Joe Torre's presence in this team would've been so uplifting for all the players especially Jeter. Girardi has had so many wrong calls by calling out MO in the 9th inning with bases loaded jam instead of bringing him out fresh to start the 9th inning. You just can';t blame the injuries, yes they hurt but with this such batting line up , Damon, Jeter, AROD, Nady, Cano, Abreu, Giambi, its inexcusable. It is Girardi's fault.

Joe did a great job getting us into the postseason this year. No other manager would've been able to do that. Donnie was the Yankee I grew up with so the sentimental side of me wants him to become manager but the logical side of me says that Girardi's the man for the job.

As far Torre's legacy goes, he's earned himself a spot in the new monument park that will be in the new Yankee Stadium whenever he decides to pack it up and call it a career. But, nothing last forever. The team needs to get younger and I'd like to see them get a good, young manager like Joe Girardi to work with the kids.
Down the road, people are going to remember this as one of the worst moves in sports.

I love Joe... but he isn't a great manager by any stretch. He knows how to handle the ego of most ballplayers,,and he keeps the team calm and confident I think. But, he is not a great in-game manager. That being said,,I don't think anyone right now would be a better fit for the Yankees. Great interview- I feel horrible for Torre and I really, REALLY hope he's back next year. :'( He's one of the best managers in baseball history, and nothing can change that. It wasn't meant to be this year- between the bugs, all the runners left on base, and Wang, it just didn't work out. Torre is a great manager.

Joe did a great job getting us into the postseason this year. No other manager would've been able to do that. Donnie was the Yankee I grew up with so the sentimental side of me wants him to become manager but the logical side of me says that Girardi's the man for the job.

As far Torre's legacy goes, he's earned himself a spot in the new monument park that will be in the new Yankee Stadium whenever he decides to pack it up and call it a career. But, nothing last forever. The team needs to get younger and I'd like to see them get a good, young manager like Joe Girardi to work with the kids.

People don't realize that Torre specifically said that he did not want a one year deal. The front office basically forced him out. Give the guy some respect. He really turned the team around this season from an abysmal start. For the organization to let him go in this fasion is disgraceful. I love Joe... but he isn't a great manager by any stretch. He knows how to handle the ego of most ballplayers,,and he keeps the team calm and confident I think. But, he is not a great in-game manager. That being said,,I don't think anyone right now would be a better fit for the Yankees. Cashman and Steinbrenner are more responsible for any playoff failures than Joe ever could be!! They brought in too many players that ended up being busts. Cant blame Joe for that!!

Minaya has already told Willie Randolph he'll be back as Mets manger. But this is a business and Minaya may feel he has a better chance of making the playoffs and reaching the World Series with Torre.

Great interview- I feel horrible for Torre and I really, REALLY hope he's back next year. :'( He's one of the best managers in baseball history, and nothing can change that. It wasn't meant to be this year- between the bugs, all the runners left on base, and Wang, it just didn't work out. Torre is a great manager.
