I'd say roughly 50% of the audience had not heard any songs of either band except metallica. Thats atleast how I experienced it. As for the maiden concert, lets just say that maiden is a religion in the nordic countries and you can tell that if you had been there ;)

@kingmetallica1995 I never considered Antrhax out of place per se. They were one of the biggest Thrash bands in the world in the 80's, so their place in the Big 4 was deserved. But sound wise they didn't fit in. Slayer, Metallica, and Megadeth were all Bay Area and had that "Bay Area Sound". Anthrax was from the East Coast and besides the fact that their vocals were unique among Thrash acts at the time, their music also incorperated more Hardcore elements than the other Big 4.

Dude indio crowd during slayer was a 60k people Head bang, with 1000+ Circle pits going on. It was a very great U.S. Crowd, and I loved the concert! Megadeth did steal the crowd though. all 80-100k people sang there hearts out to megadeth.

I was there and it was really hard to hear anything except the drums in any band except Metallica where you actually could hear about everything. They gave like ten minutes of sound checking for all bands except Metallica where they gave about half an hour. That's the reason why the crowd was so dead at all the bands except Metallica.

I have absolutely nothing against megadeath but this has to be one of their WORST performances. Dave is without a doubt, hands down an amazing guitar player but his voice is worse then the sound a cat makes while being strangled. He use to have a great voice with a lil bit of rasp in it. Now its all rasp. I'm disappointed. No wonder the crowd was lame. That + there's a huge bunch of Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax fans in the crowd.
