This guitar is a multi-scale instrument. The term "Fanned Fret" was invented by Ralph Novax. However, the concept is several hundred years old. It is only necessary on instruments with a large number of strings - hence a piano has its strings at different scale lengths for different notes (think of a grand piano as a blatant example).
@Yourmomathon lol obviously if u listen closely he mentioned which of the 2 strings u would take off for it to be tuned the same as a 6 string, but yeah it sounded kinda funny
