  • They are the clearwater heads, but they were not considered the Monster heads. They do have the larger springs and 2.02 valves though. I'm not sure what all the "Monster" heads includes. Make sure you check the valve seats before installing the heads, mine were wrong and I had to get them reworked...

That's a huge cam you are using!! Mine is as large as I would go in a quad cab 4x4 due to bottom end power loss. I regeared to 4.56 also and that brought everything together in my combo.

  • Are those Clearwater's Monster EQ Heads? I just bought mine with 2.02 valves and a Compcam with a custom grind of 218/223 @ .050 and .570/.540 lift along with new lifters, rods, and roller rockers. I also have HughesEngines FI Airgap Intake Mani and 3" LT Headers with an SCT Tune and 4.56 gearing with a Detroit True Track!! cant wait I get them installed next week!!

  • Wow sounds good, I didnt know the 210X had that healthy of a lump in the idle to it. I have a 210X cam in the engine I bought from a guy that was freshly built but done wrong and have it in the machine shop now. Excited to hear it loping away. I also have a 360 with the 224X cam, its in my vids. Its also in the machine shop lol.

  • @RamThisDTO It sounds a lot better now that I have all the bugs worked out of it and new exhaust. I hope you are running decent gears with this cam. The 3.55 do not do well; I changed mine to 4.56 and now I got some power!! Good luck with both your builds!!

  • What valves and valve springs are u using I'm gettin a 210/220 @.50 lift cam for my truck and I can't figure out what valves and springs to use

  • I am running the .600 springs

  • @DLF61 I am also running the 2.02 valves

  • i love my sct tuner from sean ! ! how hard is it to do heads i have 1.7 rollor rocker? check out my vids

  • also what air filter?

  • nice im looking for a sct tune but i cant seem to find one. my truck is a 97 and i have small mods like intake, throttle body spacer, headers and echaust.. im looking for a tune to get the best out of my mods and something that will go with my future mods im thinking a cam like the one you have not to much more tho also a 52mm throttle body

  • did you install all that yourself. im getting the same setup as you but without heads

  • I had a buddy of mine help me with it. Are you planning on stock heads? If so, you may want to port to get the flow correct.

  • i plan on staying with stock heads for now. but im not gonna take the heads off so i will deal with the flow later i guess.

  • i dont really have the funds or time for a port job. the truck is my DD for now so i can have it out of commission too long

  • nice truck man...that cam idle sounds good...im stroke'n mine to a 408 right now..but good truck

  • Hemifever knows his stuff!! I don't have a air/fuel meter so he is just trying to get it tuned in as close as he can by ear.

I have turned the idle down a little, but I may try to tweak it a little more...

  • OK thanks. What is your idle set at right now?

  • 750 rpm. That is as low as it will go.

  • Dude, that's one bad truck. I'm a dodge man through and through. Just be ready for the chevy/ford flame wars.

  • Thanks!! That engine has been a lot of work and a ton of money!!

  • @1trucklover if you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost roughly to do all of this?

  • @jduckworth18 I have about $3500 in the engine, but that was a complete rebuild. The cam and programmer by theirself would run about $700-800 and thats not including installation. It's pretty expensive!!
