I have to agree with NPjazzsaxmusic, unfortunately. Don't get me wrong, you guys have great ideas; you just need to listen to your drummer and lock in the tempo and those transitions.
I don't have anything to back that up except a little bit of experience. Just what my ears tell me... take it or leave it, in other words.
You know, that would be a good idea,if it wasn't for the fact that the same drummer was notorious for speeding up the tempos beyond belief. You wouldn't know though 'cuz you weren't there. Thanks for the comment anyways!
We have no control on who comments. We do have the option to delete posts which we won't do. We welcome criticism. If you're a gigging musician, you would know that camcorders isn't the best source for sound. Also, we'd probably take you more serious if you had something posted. Criticising is easy, but looks better if YOU had something to back it up. And you don't.
Search for 'Melonious Funk', and watch, there should only be on video result. I'm the blond guy playing bass, its a few years old, but It's the only thing i've got to show you as im a student who can't afford a video camera. Oh, and This was done on an amateur camcorder, so as you will no doubt notice the sound isn't the best quality, especially as i wasnt D.I 'd well. i too am open to constructive criticism, but not pointless name-calling or insults. please comment!
Woah, look if you (or him) can't take constructive criticism then maybe you shouldn't be in the music business! a lot of this song is well executed, but compliments don't help people improve! and by sound, i meant the tone that his bass has. He might want to try experimenting with equipment/set up/ EQ to see if he can get sounds that he likes more or are better suited to the overall band sound, but if this is how he wants to sound, thats fine.
Believe me,we are wide open to constructive criticism, however,it is interesting how you judge someone's sound by listening to a super low-res recording captured by a crappy cam mic! Also,it's hard to take "constructive" criticism from a "moniker" on YouTube-let us hear/see you stuff and be able to criticize. After all,if we weren't open to constructive criticism I wouldn't be keeping your posts.Cheers!

The bass player needs to work on his timing, and his sound!
NPjazzsaxmusic 5 years ago
You should probably post something of your playing to show him the way it's supposed to be done or perhaps I can send you his e-mail!

Sound is subjective. Especially from a camcorder. Timing LOL. If you got something, NP, post it.

You're an idiot NPjazzsaxmusic. You're right about one thing, A LOT of the song is well executed.

Reminds me of Tribal Tech. They do a version as well.
The bass player reminds me of Gary Willis with the palm mute and string scratches. Nice Job fellows!
