If you shape both the top and bottom parts of the wing into an airfoil you should see lift and more predictable flights. Love the giant scale though!

i dunno buddy, i gotta say....that was really neat to watch. despite a little doubt on my part at the beginning, your plane took off nice and smooth...you seemed to have good control over it. Yes, maybe a little smaller tail rudder, like you said, but it was awesome. Well done!!!

It's not really relying on the wings for lift, it's mostly dependent on the propeller to keep it aloft. So technically it's a bit of a helicopter.

Mike's one of those guys who puts a plane together and then flies it once, maybe twice, before taking it apart again. There was a guy in my club who used to do the same thing all the time. I ended up with a whole bunch of his ex-planes. Heh. They fly great for the most part.
