Belive it or not the first system to go online was the atari 2600. It had one small phone cord that you could plug into the back and you could play against one random person who was playing the same game as you. Now today thats not saying much but this was 1977.

It's nice to have all of the things I hate together in one video. Hip hop, Guitar Hero, Playstations... The Ps2 was NOT WAY superior to the Dreamcast. How about texturing etc.? The ps2 was a whole bunch of hype, they lied about the polygon count, they lied about the capabilities, they lied about the release date. Sure later ps2 games look better than earlier Dreamcast games, they also look better than early ps2 games! In 2005, the Dreamcast's graphics would still look like 2005 ps2 grapics

actually i just re watched and the ps2 cpu was stronger then dreamcast but the gpu is actually weaker than the dreamcasts.

u talking about 2 different gens of consoles yes dreamcast came out 1 year after n64 and 2 after ps1 but it was meant for that gen as they were working on the sega saturn which launched in japan and never made it to usa thus evolved into the dreamcast ps2,gc,xbox is the generation after, and dreamcast was pwning n64 ps1 with all its games, dreamcast didnt lose to ps2 sega had it d/c because there hardware dep. was purchsed by M$ notice any similaritys by dreamcast and xbox? controllers/games?

Uhh, no... The 6th Generation was composed of Sega's Dreamcast, Sony's Playstation 2, Microsoft's Xbox and Nintendo's Gamecube. They origianlly created the Dreamcast to supersede the N64, or, come after it and be more powerful. They didn't even realize they started a new generation of console wars by doing it. Sorry. The Dreamcast was in direct competition with Sony's Playstation 2, and it lost. Sucks, because I love the Dreamcast. And, yes, Xbox copied off Dreamcast big time once it went out.
