If they have the confidence and skill to do it. Then more power to them.
It also might be stupid to run a grade 4 gorge section with big nasty holes but paddlers do it to because they want to. Becasue they want to feel the adrenaline or prove that they can do something difficult.
And as explained by the owner of this video on the top comment it wasnt a low head dam but a naturally occuring pour over.
Please, what's this song name? I know it's famous, I have seen it all my life, but I don't know it's name. Can someone tell me please? Thanks a lot!!!
That first rapid was Greater wesser or worser wesser as some call it on the Nantahala right. I just went down that this past weekend along with the ocoee and the hiwasse. They are all fun rivers never been down the nilchucky yet though I heard it was beautiful. The best river I have kayaked was probably the gauley in virgina. That there is a fun river.
Now there's a sight for sore eyes! I paddled the Ocoee every weekend for 3 months during the drought of '99 - a great river full of good paddlers. *sigh* I miss the South.
o i can see it now. i looked to the far left and i can see where its kind of broken up. thats a really neat formation. at higher levels id stay to the right of it tho.
It wasn't a lowhead dam, just a natural rock pourover that was about 4-5 feet high. The water at the bottom was pretty deep and the hydrolic wasn't that sticky but it was a pretty fun place for cartwheels and enders. It's in Jackson Ky. and has a really fun park n play spot with a fun hole and class III rapid too.
nice video pal
