makes perfect sense + write down ur time between sets.by reducing that time u can grow bigger but not stronger and be have more endurance (of course theres a limit to it but if ur the guy takin 10 min between sets and ur still small but strong u know the answer ;) )
Actually 5-8 reps per set at about 85% max weight triggers virtually all off your muscle fibers, getting you the most gains. This has been proven in studies.
@The247FitnessChannel How about you stop giving anecdotal based, bro-science advice yeah? Of course reps & intensity etc. are up to the individual, we are.. individual after all.. so of course it varies depending on a multitude of factors, but the figure I gave (5-8 reps/~85% 1RM) is for an AVERAGE male (was that not obvious?..). 8-12 reps, on ave. will NOT result in optimal muscle growth. That's a made up figure without any science to back it up. Studies/science>big guys/friends/most trainers.
If you are able to do more than 12 repetition per set for a muscle exercise, then you are using very light weights and u need to increase the weight. If you do less than 8 repetitions per set, the the weight is too heavy, and u need to decrease.
@rabou333 Thats right! Ppl who are on dozens of reps per day think that these will build muscle. It'll damage your joints! If you're 20 yrs old now and do 100 push ups a day for 5 years, by 30 you will 100% have shoulder problems.
Do 8-10 (x2 sets) bench presses at your maximum weight (You need spotting and you fail on rep no.10) for ONCE a week and you'll have a BEEFIN chest in 6 months if you're eating right. The same applies for all muscles except Calves, Biceps & Triceps.
he main principle behind every oz of sweat and blood we give in the gym is PROGRSSIVE OVERLOAD!if your doing 200,and now your doing 201,youve gotten stronger and a little bigger.brutally simple, brutally effective.a journal is good, but dony forget the most basic of all elements.
..You first grow muscle then you work that muscle for strenght, and after that when the muscle is strong enough you change your routine because otherwise you only build fatigue..
by Kyle Leon and it was very helpful for me. I've been using it the past year and have put on a lot of muscle.... muscle that I'd never thought I'd have, give it a go!
yoh im 14 and im skinny and i realy realy want 2 bulk up without using protein shakes and im really cautious about my size people say im realy skinny and i wanna add on bodyweight and muscle to become more physical in soccer im 46 kg
so does that mean your you can keep on increasing the weight forever? so lets say in week 1 u bench 180 week 2 190 week 3 200 week 4 210 week 5 220 and so on?
@hekkoder You will hit what is called a plateau where you can't lift anymore weight. Thats to be expected. There are several techniques for breaking through plateaus, one of them is partials and another is reversals.
I can bet you though that you'll reach a level of fitness and strength and be quite happy, then you'll probably cut that away and stay lean and mean. Only really mental dedicated muscle heads go for the Steroid Look.
@hekkoder You can keep increasing the weight but it won't go up that fast. Your body needs more time and smaller increments to build up the muscle to handle heavier weights.
I have no weights, I do stress my muscles by doing push ups, up to 1000 a day (started with 30), upside down agaist the wall, one handed, etc...different styles, plus 500 abs. Triceps and lifting buckets for shoulders, it works! ripped and bigger.
@EliteLifts Everyone is different in the way they look when they build muscle. I know one guy who has got the most defined muscle tone and like 1% fat on his body - he looks insane. Thats DNA for you. Another guy called Dorian Yates only have a Four Pack on his stomach and we all know what happened to him.
The video is informative but exercise alone won't help you gain lean muscle you should also have proper diet and enough sleep in order to achieve your goal. I do know a link of a site that offers and gives valueable information on gaining lean muscles and burning fats. Youtube won't allow me to post the link but you can check it on my profile.
im trying the low weight high rep thing for 3 months. im going to slowly build my way to my regular lifting. as soon as i reach my normal lifting, im going to do that for 1 month my body is going to think its going back to its normal routine but ima add more weight. its all about experimenting with ur diet, training and supplements
I Need help here. Please help!! =-] I havent workd out for over a good year now.. and I have just started wieght lifting only working out my arms and shoulders for the last 15 days stright. Now What I want to know is.. Is it good to work out 1 hour each day every day and keep doing that forever? I'v been told by some people that I should do 1 hour 1 day and take the next day off, and so on.. What do you think I should do? I'v been doing the last 15 days jumping weight and its doing fine so far.
@Lifetakerko The issue here is the short time period you've been working out. It seems OK now, but carry om 'forever' and you'll break something! Most people blast an area with specific exercises with maximum weight and plenty of rest and food. Example, Squat max weight x 7 - 9 times x 2 sets and leave that exercise for a whole week. Then take a day off and do chest, day off, then deadlifts, then 2 days off. Loads of rest is needed coz the weight is always MAX! Thats if you want to build MUSCLE!
@Lifetakerko You should never work out 2 days in a row. I dont give a fuck what ppl say. Its fact. You have to let your body refill its glycogen store, or you'll end up overtraining and in a catabolic phase. Your body will secrate an hormone called Cortisol, and will break down your muscle to fuel your body. In other word you'll train for nothing! 1 day ON 1 day OFF is the way to go. You'll get better result. You dont grow in the gym. The more you spend in the gym the less result you'll get.
Great Video. I started increasing my weight every single time i go into the gym. And i seen such an amazing out come.! i cant wait to keep pushing my limits and see my self 6 months from now!
