Well that definitely helps -- I didn't realize that ctrl-shift erase hardened lines. I also see another problem I had trying to replicate some of your work -- it looks like after you generate the circles up and down the "tube" you eventually explode the curve on the circles? I hadn't had an opportunity to use that yet and it was making it impossible to do some of the techniques I saw you doing. I also just found your website and look forward to reading through it. Thanks, Tom
Hmm, I really like your work! I understood what was going on in Part 1 but see some new techniques this time around I can't quite figure out...I notice your mouse always is a white arrow, why is that? A preference option I don't know about? Are you adding in line to move points? I keep seeing you select hidden geometry lines as they turn yellow (I think). What is happening there? Thanks for the help!
Mouse: Wow, hadn't noticed that. I think my screen recording program might not have recorded changes in the mouse. The reticule changes in SU by default.
Moving Points: If use the move tool and hover on an intersection of points (vertex) you can move it. No need to add anything.
Yellow Lines: I believe you're seeing me using the eraser tool + ctrl to smooth them, or eraser tool + shift and ctrl to harden them. Since you can't see the mouse change to the tool I'm using (in this video) it's confusing. I'm using soften and harden to bring out the defining geometry for the model, in this case a lot of muscle definition.
wow lots of retopology. Would it be faster to import an obj from another program like maya?
